I went out for a short ride tonight, and since it was almost dark i was almost idling home the last few miles. (alot of deer out running around) Anyway i noticed a faint ticking sound in the front end. It sounds like it ticks about once per revolution of the tire. I havent really ridden my bike this way before, so never have heard anything like it. I doubt it could be brakes, cause it isnt constant. My next thought was speedometer cable? Tomorrow i will try to jack the bike up and spin it by hand and see if i can hear anything. Any ideas woul be appreciated. Oh it has a little over 7000 miles on it

Roofing nail in tire? :whistling:

Mine did it, but it was only when I hit a bump. I touched everything I could and could never find it. It eventually went away. When it was new, one of the bolts came out of the brake caliper causing it to rattle.

A small stone in your tread?

Depress your front brakes sightly, if sound goes away its your calipers.

If you've got creative kids, they may have put a plastic zip ties on the rim so it clicks and drives you crazy... We use to do it to our bike tires although I can't seem to remember what we used.

rule out the cable due to your bike being electronic now, sounds like your pads are rattling against your rotor or possible broken rotor but unlikely due to being a newer bike. look up monty's question on his brake rattling sound and I think you will see you have the same problem as he did. easy fix and you don't even have to rise the bike off the ground either to do this.
