Hi;

Just wanted to share my cure for a Hot Motorcycle Seat when you get on your bike to ride home.

I learned about it from Goldwing Owners. Goldwing owners generally always use a 1/2 cover on their bikes when they stop in the summertime. Without a cover, the black bike seat will feel like it is on fire when you get on it after baking in the sun.

A Goldwing Half cover fits great on a Venture (2nd Gen).

I use a...

Champion Honda Goldwing Half Cover Motorcycle Cover

It can be found for about $30.

I park in the shade.

If the bike is at home in is in its shed, if it is at work it is in the covered motorcycle parking area. This covers 95% of my riding.

On those rare occasions that it will be in the sun for a long time AND it is a hot day, I put my white towel on the seat. On cold days I like that warm seat.

What? You guys don't have the cool water side of the radiator flowing through little tubes in your custom mustang seat before it goes to cool the motor?

(on second thought --- a smal trany cooler with water in it, mounted just in front of the radiator would actually keep the water cooler....hmmmmm)

Gone for the feasibility study............................

What works for me is somewhere along the way I picked up one of those dense towels that motels use to put in front of the tub/shower. They are usually heavy enough that unless there is a strong wind, they won't blow off the seat. They also give some cushion and don't raise me up too much. I have tried other towels, but these work best for me.

As you can see, it is a lot nicer than throwing a towel on the seat.

I have one similar to that. It's pretty nice and convenient. I like that you don't have to fuss with the antenna's and that it stuffs into a small bag for storage.

In 2008, I purchased my 2007 RSV and a month later was in Austin at ROT Rally, came across the folks at Genuine CoolAss. I purchased one and have never looked back. This product is great!!! The have a lifetime warranty, great folks to deal with. I recommend them highly.
