GigaWhiskey Posted June 14, 2010 #1 Posted June 14, 2010 Can you recommend a set of dial gauges for me? I think I am over the liquid sync type gauges. Watching that fluid go striaght up and needing to shut the bike off to stop it from sucking it in is a real pain.
V7Goose Posted June 14, 2010 #2 Posted June 14, 2010 This is the set here - not recommending this place, it is just the first one I found. You can get them form JC Whitney, but their price has gone through the roof. I did a search last year and found a couple of places selling this set for around $50, so look around before you order. http://www.saber-cycle.com/store/product735.html
V7Goose Posted June 14, 2010 #4 Posted June 14, 2010 Check this out: http://www.sportingforless.com/servlet/the-carb-sync-gauge/Categories
GigaWhiskey Posted June 14, 2010 Author #5 Posted June 14, 2010 That one looks just like yours. Sweet! It also has the adaptors for momma's bike too. I like the price. Thank you again! http://gallery.me.com/rturton/100013/100_3421/web.jpg?ver=12173885010002
GigaWhiskey Posted June 14, 2010 Author #6 Posted June 14, 2010 I BBB'd them and found nothing but these guys are popular at SOHC4.net and found no complaints. So, I will order through them.
tpalshadow Posted June 14, 2010 #7 Posted June 14, 2010 I BBB'd them and found nothing but these guys are popular at SOHC4.net and found no complaints. So, I will order through them. Can you please let us know how the order/product goes? I really need to order one and that price looks tough to beat! (Unless someone around N. Iowa has a set they want to help me use ) Thanks!
tpalshadow Posted June 14, 2010 #8 Posted June 14, 2010 Would this work? Could I just velcro them to a plate?
GigaWhiskey Posted June 14, 2010 Author #9 Posted June 14, 2010 I dunno. With shipping was $60 USPS Priority.
tpalshadow Posted June 14, 2010 #10 Posted June 14, 2010 Sorry, forgot the link: http://www.jcwhitney.com/carburetor-synchronizer-standard-4-gauge-kit/p2004169.jcwx?skuId=234595
gibvel Posted June 14, 2010 #11 Posted June 14, 2010 Sorry, forgot the link: http://www.jcwhitney.com/carburetor-synchronizer-standard-4-gauge-kit/p2004169.jcwx?skuId=234595 Those would work. They look like exactly the same gauge. You should be able to screw them to a plate. They should have threaded holes in the back.
tpalshadow Posted June 14, 2010 #12 Posted June 14, 2010 Great, now all I have to do is figure out how to use it!
gibvel Posted June 14, 2010 #13 Posted June 14, 2010 Only problem I see with that, however, is that the one on the plate has hoses and valves included. The valves are used to keep the needles from bouncing around excessively. Honestly, the one on the plate isn't that much more expensive and it comes with all the parts you need. You're better off getting that.
V7Goose Posted June 15, 2010 #14 Posted June 15, 2010 Sorry, forgot the link: http://www.jcwhitney.com/carburetor-synchronizer-standard-4-gauge-kit/p2004169.jcwx?skuId=234595 That one at JCW is interesting - I'll bet it is the same one, with the gauges mounted on a plate and everything. Their pictures often do not match the real item. Really surprised me, since the last few times I checked them there, they were charging over $130! I wouldn't hesitate to order the $40 one form them - they are very good at taking returns. Goose
tpalshadow Posted June 15, 2010 #15 Posted June 15, 2010 Thanks Goose, that made me feel better! I did read one of the user posts who said it was on a plate already and had everything set up. Hopefully it is or I'll have to test their return policy. I paid for the FedEx ground shipping and the tracking number shows it is going to be delivered tomorrow!
