majkongb52 Posted June 14, 2010 #1 Posted June 14, 2010 (edited) Im new so I guess they are called fairing grills. Im thinking these intake spaces would be a good place for driving/marker lights. After removing the screws, I found something else is holding them. Can somebody tell me how they come out? Thanks ! 1988 VR Edited June 14, 2010 by majkongb52

sarges46 Posted June 14, 2010 #3 Posted June 14, 2010 Its a 88 silvt. And if those are chrome intakes at the front of the fairing you have a little cash coming. Those are like gold to the 1st genners! Careful not to mess em up too much. I am sure you could get a decent price for them on this site.
MiCarl Posted June 14, 2010 #4 Posted June 14, 2010 The vents have tabs on the side opposite the screw to hold that side in place. After you remove the screw you should be able to slide the vent sideways to disengage the tabs. So, looking at motorcycle from the front: The vent on your left - remove screw, slide vent left and remove. Opposite for right side.

GigaWhiskey Posted June 14, 2010 #6 Posted June 14, 2010 There is someone making brakets still for driving lights, cannot remember who. It replaces the horn mount. The horn and lights mount on the same piece. These fit the bike nice and are placed in a very good place for lighting.
GigaWhiskey Posted June 14, 2010 #7 Posted June 14, 2010 Check out this link. It has pictures of it. He is using walmart's platinum burners. Cheap and Bright. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19714&highlight=driving+light+brackets
Snaggletooth Posted June 14, 2010 #8 Posted June 14, 2010 Hey Giga, Yep, Squidley used to make those brackets. I got a set on mine. Work just fine. However, I may be wrong but I do think he is out of them.
Pappa Bear Posted June 14, 2010 #9 Posted June 14, 2010 Majkong52, Are ya gonna sell the vents? I would like a shot at them.

However, I may be wrong but I do think he is out of them. Yup, he cleared out his remaining sets, probably prior to the move. Also, I don't think anyone else makes them, at least not yet.....
GigaWhiskey Posted June 14, 2010 #11 Posted June 14, 2010 I got mine from him too. SOmeone else took that over and can't remember who it was.
