rod Posted June 11, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 11, 2010 83 Blue Venture in good shape what is it worth? They are asking $1,100. Will check 2nd gear and frame. Thanks Rod
Guest seuadr Posted June 11, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 11, 2010 if it runs, is faily cosmetically and mechanically sound, and 2nd gear works fine, it's a steal of a deal, imho.
Yammer Dan Posted June 11, 2010 Share #3 Posted June 11, 2010 You will get a lot of opinions on this. And it depends on shape it is in. And has it been taken care of? Mileage is important but I have a 85 that was not taken care of with 19k on it when I got it. Took a lot of work to make it road worthy. Then I have a 86 w/66k that I would take off anywhere on. Check what you have mentioned and just look it over good. Hard to tell anything about that frame but look close. All I know is if it sits down on back tire it is done!!! Is it a Royale?? Intercom and CB are nice to have when riding with others. Good radio keeps you company on solo rides. Back to your question any good 1st gen is worth that to me but...... If you can't walk away from it without looking back BUY IT!! GOOD LUCK!!
rod Posted June 11, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted June 11, 2010 Thanks for the replies. The pics look like it is in very good condition with 46,000 mi. Not a Royal but looks very nice in the pics with all the luggage. Rod
Venturous Randy Posted June 11, 2010 Share #5 Posted June 11, 2010 Thanks for the replies. The pics look like it is in very good condition with 46,000 mi. Not a Royal but looks very nice in the pics with all the luggage. Rod Keep in mind that 46,000 is just getting into window of the 2nd gear issue if it is going to happen. This would not be a deal breaker for me, but for most, it would be. RandyA
bongobobny Posted June 12, 2010 Share #6 Posted June 12, 2010 I would rate it a fair to good deal... Offer $750. You can always tear it down and sell the parts on fleabay for a profit!
Trader Posted June 12, 2010 Share #7 Posted June 12, 2010 seems most of the 1st Gen VR that I've seen on EBay lately seem to be going for $1600 plus
