sarges46 Posted June 10, 2010 #1 Posted June 10, 2010 A bud of mine is looking for a wing. He cant afford one of those fancy shmancy new ones. I would say something around 5-6k. Just by looking quickly at craiglist that should gets something in the 95 and under range. What year should he avoid or what are some of the nuances of any particular year? Any help is appreciated. Cant talk him into a first gen...lol.
Snarley Bill Posted June 10, 2010 #2 Posted June 10, 2010 the only thing major is the frame cracking on the early 1800 wings. it was a major recall. otherwise i think all the wings were great bikes.
kj5ix Posted June 10, 2010 #3 Posted June 10, 2010 He should be able to find a early 1500 for 6 to 7 K if he is lucky,, but if he is looking for something under 5 he will have to look for a 1200. Parts are starting to get harder to find for the 1200's, and that model had a stator issue, but if it is still being ridden, I would bet that it has been taken care of. Both are good ridding machines, and easy on the butt on long runs.
