gmcgeo02 Posted October 21, 2007 #1 Posted October 21, 2007 As most of you may already know I had a little accident with my bike on Oct 12, 2007 after surgery on my ankle. The ortho doc gave me a photo of my ankle with the plate and screws. I hope this won't be too distasteful to see. i have added a couple pics of the bikes damage
mini-muffin Posted October 21, 2007 #2 Posted October 21, 2007 That's interesting hadn't seen that before. Hope you heal up and are back to normal soon. Margaret
juggler Posted October 21, 2007 #4 Posted October 21, 2007 That is exactly what my left ankle x-ray looks like. I had the same break from falling on an ice covered sidewalk in 1998. One plate and six screws later my ankle is better than it was before. Much better actually. I used to sprain and twist both of my ankles all the time. Since they put in the metal works, I have never hurt my left ankle again. You'll be up and running in no time at all. You should be looking forward to a much better ankle.
Yammer Dan Posted October 21, 2007 #5 Posted October 21, 2007 My leg pics remind me of the ones they had on the news a few months ago of the horse they put down because they couldn't fix it. Glad I'm not a horse!!
Just-Jack Posted October 21, 2007 #7 Posted October 21, 2007 Well GMC i guess that nobody can tell you that you have a few screws loose because judging by the pictures they look like they are in there pretty tight.. Get better soon and avoid gravel roads!!!!! Jessie:2132:

utadventure Posted October 22, 2007 #14 Posted October 22, 2007 I had a very similar break 4 1/2 years ago playing basketball. After the surgery, I regained full mobility and activity. There are still moments of swelling even today. They didn't remove the plate or screws. It doesn't set off the alarm at the airport but I can tell you when a storm is coming!! Heal fast and go take a ride!!
KiteSquid Posted October 23, 2007 #15 Posted October 23, 2007 Thanks for the xray! OUCH!!!!! On one of my knee surgeries, I was able to watch the TV that had what the arthroscope showed the doctor what he was doing in there.....
