Does anyone use super tech gear oil 85W-90, or can it be use might be a better question.

Thanks

It is manufactured by Sopus Products a Division of Shell oil Company witch includes Pennzoil and Quaker State.

Just under the Wal-Mart Super-Tech name.

As with all Wal-Mart oils and lubricants. Hope this helps……Ron

PS. I use the stuff and have never had a problem with the oils.

My last bike went a 187,000 useing Super-Tech oils.

The guy who bought the bike is still riding it.

Thought I answered your question.

Yes I use the Super-Tech rear end oil in my 02 Midnight Venture and have no problems with it. I have 83,000 miles on her now and plan on going a hundred more.

I also use the 20-50 oil and Super-Tech oil Filter and change my oil regular at around 3 to 4,000 miles. I use the anti freeze and Hi pod grease also.

If you don't trust it for any reason use some other product. I like Pennzoil and Quaker State products myself and trust there quality no matter who's name is on the bottle........Ron

Dang Larry, spend a couple of bucks and get the synthetic gear oil. ;)

I just use mobil-1 and I don't like the way it shifts now, seems to be more of a clunk from 2nd to 3rd at times...

You can use it IF it meets the vehicle manufactures specification, which can be found in the owners manual.

I don't use it as I prefer to use Synthetic lubricants in my bike.

Which type of Mobil 1? You didn't put 85w-90 in your engine? I mean we were talking about rear end gear oil to start with, weren't we?

Thanks guys I will try this it is a GL-5 they say GL-4 or better, which brings me to this s it higher the number the better or worst, meaning if they require GL-4 and you use GL-5 wouldn't that be better?

Just use the GL-5 and you will be fine.

OK, changing the rear end gear oil will not affect how the bike shifts. Did you also change the engine/trans oil? And if so, what weight did you use?
