Iowawegian Posted June 1, 2010 #1 Posted June 1, 2010 http://img1.jpcycles.com/product/831-495_A.jpgOur friends have a T Bag that sits on top of their luggage rack. They have an Harley Ultra Classic. The brand is T Bag, but it's designed for the Ultra Classic. This isn't the exact picture, but close. It's got a few zipper pouches and water bottle pockets. Our luggage rack for the Venture is smaller. I have looked at JP Cycle but I'm not seeing anything that would fit our rack. Does anyone have a website and picture of one that fits the Venture. We're leaving on vacation in 10 days, and I'd really like to have one by then, that I can order. I don't care what brand it is, but hopefully I can keep the cost reasonable. Thanks for any help!! Deb
Squidley Posted June 1, 2010 #2 Posted June 1, 2010 Deb, I have had a few of these Kuryakyn bags, they work great and the price is right. I have used them on both 1st and 2nd gens. http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/catID/5/scID/2/IMID/342

That's what I'm looking for....just a quick question....is it easy to get into? Our friends bag had a zipper that goes all the way around the top so it opened up the whole topof the bag. This one looks like it's a zipper that goes straight across. Is that right? Boy, you can't beat the price on it!
Monty Posted June 1, 2010 #4 Posted June 1, 2010 Here is what we have. Bought it at the local Honda/Yamaha shop. http://goldwingchrome.com/N_ItemDetails.asp?parItemID=1876&parCategory=MISC
ozzyosburn Posted June 1, 2010 #5 Posted June 1, 2010 I got one just like Monty but in yellow. I figured for a trip it would stand out in the rain on the back of a Midnight Venture. It holds on to the rack with the supplied straps, and is very easy to remove to take in your hotel room at night. Great bag for the price.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted June 1, 2010 #6 Posted June 1, 2010 By simply scrolling down to the bottom of the Venture home page, there are deals on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390190748441&viewitem=#ht_1653wt_851 Or just go to ebay and search for "yamaha trunk rack bag" or something similar.
Squidley Posted June 1, 2010 #7 Posted June 1, 2010 Hey Squid! That's what I'm looking for....just a quick question....is it easy to get into? Boy, you can't beat the price on it! Deb, It's not bad to get into, if it's like the old ones I have had, it has a self storing rain cover in it that you can pull over the top. The zipper is across the top, I have run through some hard rain with it on and the contents stayed dry, the price is right & it works well
LilBeaver Posted June 1, 2010 #8 Posted June 1, 2010 They aren't necessarily pretty, but they keep stuff dry. I have used these on luggage racks in the past and they have been great. Available at sporting good stores (and possibly wally-world) For example: http://www.rei.com/product/739202?preferredSku=7392020017&cm_mmc=cse_froogle-_-datafeed-_-product-_-7392020017&mr:trackingCode=2DB4234A-C21C-DF11-9B13-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA I have also used these on camping trips or when out canoeing, can be completely submerged and still keeps stuff dry. I know that many of the bags that are advertised as 'water proof', really aren't. It is typically a matter of time before they get waterlogged and then get the stuff inside wet. These don't do that since they are made of a thick rubber material. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Just thought I'd mention it as an alternative to the 'standard' motorcycle trunk bag.
FreezyRider Posted June 1, 2010 #9 Posted June 1, 2010 I really like this one http://cyclemaxohio.com/inc/sdetail/5892 but I can't justify the expense when I already have one made by Ultraguard that is very very similar to the Kury shown in one of the previous posts. I saw one of these leather looking ones once and it is nice.
