Are you sure that all jacks are fully seated into the plugs, including those inside the fairing?

I would like to look your bike over (I am looking for options on how to use the CB and intercom)

I got a 765t refurbished from Amazon for $179 -- even got free overnight shipping. Also got a Ram Aqua Box for those less than perfect days. Using the Ram Mount with the long arm and plan to mount it from the right side and see if I can position it just over the speedo. It's a great unit and has just about every feature you could ask for. I have always had great results from refurbished items in the past.

I have the Garmin 765T and have just noticed some thing. I have the Buddy rich cable installed in the fairing and an AUX splitter. I ran the AUX cable to the head phone jack on the 765T and the small microphone cable from the Buddy Rich cables to the microphone jack in the cradle. If the IC volume is turned up high all I hear a lot of static and can hardly hear the MP3 music or the GPS directions. Turning the IC volume down makes the music and directions sound clear but then through the IC I can't hear my wife on the head set and she can't hear me. As far as the Bluetoothand the phone I couldn't hear the person calling me but they could hear me OK. Before getting the new 765T I had an old Garmin 330 Street Pilot and my MP3 playes plugged into the Casette AUX port and no Buddy Rich cable set up or AUX splitter. The 330 wasn't hooked up to the bikes audio so most times I couldn't hear the directions but the IC was just fine with the MP3 player in the AUX port. Any one have any ideas why the IC is interfearing with the MP3 sound and GPS directions?

I'm also having probs with the Buddy Rich cable and the 765T. I'm pretty sure it's not the cable, because it worked before with my older garmin. Bummer!!! I'm getting MAJOR feedback that won't stop as soon as I trigger the CB transmit.

I'll pop the old GPS on again and see if it works again. Then I can definitely say there's an issue with the 765t and the BR cable.

If this doesn't work, the 765 goes in my car and I'll prob get the 550... It's just money, anyway. Maybe I can write it off as a business expense!!! I need to get to my photo shoots on my motorcycle- and I need a motorcycle GPS!!

I was checking online for a hardwire cable for my 765T ...and the most of the cables you find, have the black box installed ...and I found someone on eBay who sells the regular cable with the inline fuse ..What is the difference between these two cables?

I would prefer the cable with the small inline fuse. Instead the cable with the box.

the one that comes with the 765T is like this

the lump in the middle of the cable is a FM reciver that gets "lifetime traffic" but they cost about $119 from Garmin. for that price, I will just buy two GPS units.....

¹Lifetime traffic extends for the useful life of your Garmin traffic receiver (as long as you own a compatible Garmin GPS) or as long as Garmin receives traffic data from its traffic supplier, whichever is shorter. Traffic content not available for all areas. See http://www.navteq.com/rdstraffic for traffic coverage areas and http://www.garmin.com/traffic/fm/navteq.html for program License Agreement containing complete terms and conditions.

I have had a 765 for quite awhile now. I like the size, the screen washes out more in sunlight than my Iway 500 does, etc. I would be ecstatic with it, but, right after I got it, it stopped charging through the USB port. Sent it in under warranty and everything was great. Heading up to the GA maintenance day, I didn't have directions written down because I had my trusty Garmin. Except that it decided that once again it didn't want to charge or power through the USB port. Major PITA. Now it doesn't even want to charge (although it will power up) through the cradle. Garmin wants $99 to repair. Trying to decide if the lighter weight and newer tech is worth getting another, repairing this one, or just going back to my lowrance.
