Flyinfool Posted May 26, 2010 #1 Posted May 26, 2010 This was in today's paper about a local guy doing custom laser etched and illuminated motorcycle windshields. http://www.jsonline.com/business/94886274.html http://www.illumatek.com/ I don't know if he can or will do a Venture windshield and I would not pay that kind of cash right now but it is still really cool.
painterman67 Posted May 26, 2010 #2 Posted May 26, 2010 Dragonslayer does it. HE has a really cool windshield on is 1st gen.give him a shout. david
Owen Posted May 26, 2010 #3 Posted May 26, 2010 Saw a guy at the Galveston, TX biker rally doing these. Some looked really good, and he had obviously been doing them for a long time.
Yamaman Posted May 27, 2010 #4 Posted May 27, 2010 Did you read all the comments below the article? Love the idiots who are convinced that the reaper image is directly in the riders line of sight. Obviously not bikers cause they have no clue that it is a shorty windshield! Hilarious!
YamaDuck Posted May 27, 2010 #5 Posted May 27, 2010 What a deal you can have one for under $1000. Prices start at less than $1000! I have a problem paying more than $125 for a windshield. I bet every scratch on your windshield will illuminate along with the etched design. But perdy though.
BOO Posted May 27, 2010 #6 Posted May 27, 2010 I have seen the glow around the edge on several windshields, not sure if they have them on while driving down the road. Also there have been people around etching windshields for years with color actually in the etching. My friend has a wing that has a red rose and green leaves on the edge of his windshield. Of course it is not lit. BOO
Flyinfool Posted May 27, 2010 Author #7 Posted May 27, 2010 I did a lit windshield many years ago, long before LEDs were readily available. Just having the edge lit I found to be very distracting while riding at night. Yes every scratch including the micro scratches to small to be seen lite up nice and bright at night.
Aussie Annie Posted May 27, 2010 #8 Posted May 27, 2010 would love to see pics of any Dragonslayer has done
