As such she has decided that she isn't likely to be interested in riding once she is expecting, and quite honestly, i have a bike this big for 2up riding. if i'm gonna be doing solo, i'd like to have something smaller. So, being as 99.9% of the advice and information i've applied to this bike came from this site, i am looking to you folks for an opinion on worth of my bike. here are some pictures: http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh131/seuadr/dreamcatcher001.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh131/seuadr/dreamcatcher002.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh131/seuadr/P1030962.jpg A little about this bike: The Good: rebuilt the front and rear brake masters brand new SS lines and R1 calipers installed de-linked front and rear brakes, but have all the hardware minus front to rear line still rebuilt front clutch master all new cables recently cleaned carbs brand new battery cleaned a large portion of the electrical connectors new wheel bearings front and rear by the time i decide if i'm going to sell, i'll have rebuilt the forks and replaced the fork seals. May be installing progressives as well. brand new (less than 500 miles) dunlop elite 3's front and back, with metal valve stems Highwaybars and crash guards are all rash free and shiny flushed everything that has fluid in it and then replaced with new. Petcock for radiator upgraded with skydoc's kit recently ajusted valves inspected and re-packed rear splines with moly 60 silverstar H4 lightbulb The Bad: it has a few small scratches on the right hand fairing, and repaired cracks on the right hand Class system pocket not perfect paint, there are small blemishes here and there some small cracks around various screw holes that have been repaired bike currently has 77K miles on it, starts right up in cold weather and i wouldn't hesatate to hop on and ride 5 miles or 5,000 miles. I personally have found the stock seat (which has no cracks or wear!) to be very comfy. personally, even though it's michigan, i am leaning to 2500 dollars or so in value, mostly bumping it up a little because of the recent upgrades like the brakes. thoughts? haven't made my mind completly up, depends on if i think i can get enough money to get something else reasonably. thanks for the view, guys. I have two 7 year olds and a 5 year old. We do find time for two up riding (WHEN IT IS RUNNING, lol) when we need that well deserved break and MiMi takes the kids for a few hours. We will ride to a podunk town, have lunch and then ride back. That is a nice bike you have! Edit: Oh, I forgot to add...you WILL need that focus/freedom time in the garage every once in a while - working on the bike. I still need it, lol. I still need it, lol. nice thing about that is, its one of 4 bikes i own, thinking of selling it with the other "large" bike i have for sale currently. but good to know i'm not being unreasonable for what i'm thinking of asking. if i sell that for around 2500 and the other bike i'm selling, i can make a pretty significant dent in a new bike. thanks for the input so far, guys! More than the price you refer to, that's for sure. Imagine you going out to buy something like that later? You will have to spend more than what you will be able to sell it for, to get all that in return. It's still streamlined enough to go single riding, and you wil miss your trunk convenience and music if you step down. After many different bikes, I like the market segment the 1st gens. fit. I'd need two or more bikes to match those specs. Every time I get close to selling mine, I come back to reality, and am ALWAYS happier for having done so. bongobobny Posted May 25, 2010 Share #8 Posted May 25, 2010 I agree, 3K is reasonable for it. Unfortunately all your work and mods won't bring more money but will make it worth your asking.
