northern venture Posted May 22, 2010 #1 Posted May 22, 2010 '87, sat 4 a long time, 14k miles Had issue with fuel in carbs that a $600 injection into the dealers retirment fund did not cure! Flushed w/carb cleaner/blew everything out and then washed with engine cleaner Now no spark at plugs. Backtracked all steps cleaning and drying e/thing, still no joy! Juice at coils though. AND NOT RIDING ON HOLIDAY WEEKEND! HELP!
mbrood Posted May 22, 2010 #2 Posted May 22, 2010 http://www.bergall.org/temp/venture/tci/tciplugs.jpg You can back pin D out of the white connector, this removes all of the kill switches to the ignition box and you will probably get your spark. Just remember this bypasses the sidestand and tipover safety switches.
northern venture Posted March 16, 2014 Author #3 Posted March 16, 2014 Went to another dealer and after having an ignition box($1000. quoted price!)used to find problem, service tech found a broken wire/connection. Another $600. donation and i was on my way!
