GigaWhiskey Posted May 24, 2010 #51 Posted May 24, 2010 Glad ya stood yer ground Boomer. Momma knew I had the VR and she knew it wern't goin' anywhere. She accepted it. She would not get on it though. It took a lot of coaxing and a helmet and jacket for Christmas one year. She told everyone "I don't know why he bought me this, I am not getting on it". She got on once for a 1 1/2 hour ride and then she started scheduling rides. Now she owns one. I got lucky in a lot of ways with momma, lol. Sorry you had to let this one go too but ya gotta have yer ride, even if it is aluminum!
BoomerCPO Posted May 24, 2010 Author #52 Posted May 24, 2010 I have run through hell for the past 9 years. My scoot is the only thing that really helped me navigate a road full of potholes and heartache. The bike kept me sane and brought me back to God. I'd rather be alone than be with a woman who would ask me to walk away from my bike. And if I die out there on the asphalt it don't bother me....after coming back to the world from Nam I have always felt that every day the Lord gave me was just icing on the cake so to speak. I may not turn out to be the greatest Angel in Heaven but I do believe mah sense of humor will hold me in good stead and keep me outta that eternal Bar-B-Q pit where that other fellar lives. Boomer....holding fast and riding hard....and never riding faster than his Guardian Angel can fly.
Yammer Dan Posted May 24, 2010 #53 Posted May 24, 2010 Boomer....holding fast and riding hard....and never riding faster than his Guardian Angel can fly. Good thing you got a 2nd Gen!!!!

Yer prolly right about that. After seeing Kbran run the Bogalusa Twisties on his 1st Gen I could see where that Maytag could get me to Heaven's Gate a lot sooner than I wanted to go. mini-muffin Posted May 24, 2010 #59 Posted May 24, 2010 Boomer if ya find someone who accepts ya for who ya are go for it. Otherwise keep telling them to go there way. I never rode a bike till Jeff got his first bike. I didn't care for it too much, was a bit uncomfortable for me. Convinced him to get another one so I could be comfy. Been riding with him since. There are some decent gals out there that are just waiting to meet you. AND they aren't looking to change you. Why would any woman want to change you? I also resemble that red headed statement. Of course I'm really sweet. Margaret

oldgoat Posted May 25, 2010 #70 Posted May 25, 2010 you know i had to stop and think about the one female in my life who never tried to change me. i had a old honda 750 with a side car rig. the minute i fired it up this female was ready to go. allways excited jumping up and down. she had nice shiny black hair. was allways ready when i called her. even if i had a bad day she understood and never tried to add to that bad day. just came running out the door and looked at me with thoes black eyes and i knew it was time to ride away my problems but at last after 12 wonderfull years together she left me. damn i sure do miss that black lab:bawling:
