rmzaurora Posted May 17, 2010 #1 Posted May 17, 2010 So I bought my Venture in March and with the snow haven't had much of a chance to ride it, this weekend however we went out on a family ride, My son took my R1 and my wife on her Sportster, we went up in to the twisties above Denver. All I can say is WOW, the bike handles like a dream on the curves, and I kept up with the kid on the R1 in most turns the only time he got away from me was on the short chute straights where his acceleration out did mine. I'm really glad I bought the VR and can hardly wait for the balance of the summer to be here so I can really see what it can do. I ordered a new set of progressive front springs for it this morning, hopefully I'll have them installed in the next couple of weeks... It may be 30 years old but it's going to have a place in my garage for a long time to come. Ride Safe
utadventure Posted May 17, 2010 #2 Posted May 17, 2010 Bob- You'll learn to appreciate it more and more. Find the write up on installing the progressive springs on the site here. You can install them without having to remove the forks. Did it on an '88 and it worked great! Dave
Venturous Randy Posted May 17, 2010 #3 Posted May 17, 2010 It may be 30 years old but it's going to have a place in my garage for a long time to come. Ride Safe Neat-o but it is actually only 20 years old. Now my 83 is 27 years old this month. RandyA
GigaWhiskey Posted May 17, 2010 #4 Posted May 17, 2010 I ran good with a pair of Busa's on one of the Sisters in SouthWest Texas until the twisties started to straighten out, then it was over, lol. I enjoyed that run. Got to slap that whip antenna on the cliff like things in the corners a few times.
