Hello to all the VentureRider Members, This is Jean, Earl's wife. Earl injured his back a few weeks ago while working on a motorcycle for one of the members of the site. We had a really bad rain Friday, May 7th and he fell down the front porch stairs during the storm. I took him for a MRI on Monday, May 10th and he has ruptured a disk between L4 and L5 in his back. He is in a lot of pain and on some heavy duty pain meds. right now. If he is supplying parts for you, please be patient with him as he is bed ridden right now. I will be checking his emails daily, and will try my best to make sure that parts he has ordered for anyone are shipped in a timely manner. At this time, he is not able to sit up at the computer, but I will relay questions to him and return answers as they come. Everything in the classifieds for sale will be shipped until supplies run out. We have plenty of the batteries for the First Gens. and Second Gens. as well as most of the other items. We are hoping he will have a corrective surgery in the next few weeks and he will be back on his feet very soon. I have been following the problem with the Clutch Spring and as soon as the new springs arrive I will do my best to ship everyone a new spring as soon as I get them. If your bike is at Earl's shop for repairs, please contact me and I will let you know where he is in the repair process. We are both very sorry for this disruption in the services he provides, and I will do my best to continue to be of service to the members of this site. Your thoughts and prayers would be most helpful during this time, He so enjoys the friendships he had made on this site. It breaks my heart to see him in such pain, and to be deprived of the joy he receives from helping the members of this site. Please take a moment and say a prayer for him, I am so worried.

Jean,

Thanks for posting this I had visions of Earl being a hood ornament :duck:. That Earl will do anything for pain killers (just kidding). The members here will help in anyway we can. Sorry to hear about back injuries those can take awhile to heal up. I'm sure some Local PA Venture guys can help you out if need be. Tell Earl he has until MD-2010 to get up and around and even show up in his cage if needs be.

GET WELL SOON EARL

Right now it's more important for him to heal up. We'll pray for a speedy recovery. Just tell him to take his time don't want to re-injure that back while it's healing.

I know his pain( bottem 5 disks in my back are wasted) and if he can not control it with meds then surgery is about the only way left to go. Either way I hope he has a speedy and complete recovery best wishes.

:fingers crossed:

:sign yeah that: :yikes:

I sure hope he heals up quickly, completely and as pain free as possible... considering the circumstances.

Wish I could do something to help him out.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you both. Back pain is not fun, hope they can get it under control or fix it. Tell him to take it easy and not try to rush anything.

prayers sent to you 2. HOpe he heals well and this doesnt over load you too terribly much . Earl is a lucky man to have such a thoughtfull wife as to post this up. While your taking care of him dont forget to take care of yourself. He will be in even more pain emotionally if something happens to you while talking care of him.

Godspeed and heal well my friend

Jean,

I'm sorry to hear about Earl's back problem. I met Earl last year at maintainence day and I knew talking with him he is, as we say in the south, "good folks". Tell Earl not to worry about getting parts out and repairing bikes, but to concentrate of getting well again. Prayers are on the way. Please keep us posted on his condition.

Sincerely,

Eddie

Thanks for the heads up Jean. Keep that critter in line and watch him close. Use a fryin' pan if you need to. I'm sure the doc ( the actual medical one) will prescribe one, perhaps cast iron, if needed. Make sure Earl follows up with the Doc orders.

Thoughts are with you guys and please keep us posted on how he is doing.

Big rough, tough guy like you what with all the bad boy biker stories slips on some wooden stairs!

Man! I tell ya, it ain't good fer yer image!

Ya need to rewrite your story and tell everyone you had a grisly, horrific, motorcycle

wreck, and damaged your back so bad, the Jaws Of Life had to separate you from

the carnage!

Tell all how your wife was thrown in the air 150 feet and landed safely on the grass,

but YOU had added three miles of road rash to the skin that was damaged from previous

rough accidents! Bike totaled beyond need for pictures, helmut never found...

Yeah, tell em you made it through by the Grace of God and you "may or may not" get back

to all that backlogged work after you return from your recovery vacation in the

south of Hawaii.

No phone. No clock. No duties. OUT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE! VentureRider's don't need any more

HEROS, we need gory, grisly, grimy, gossip, so we can all commiserate about the idiots who run

us off the road and create accidents which leave us impaired and bedridden! Ask Jimbob5!!!

Now HE'S GOT ACCIDENT STORIES - GOOD ONES!

Falling down wooden stairs just don't get it, ya hear me????:D;):sun1:SUNRAYMAN

Earl,

Stay off of your feet, take your meds, and don't watch Sponge Bob. That Sponge Bob will rot your brain . . . Look what it's done to my grandkids!
