Paint codes

I want to repaint my motorcycle. It is currently a two tone paint scheme (see pic in my signature).

 

Where would I find the paint codes? Since I will likely paint it myself, I will likely just go with the single color - haven't decided yet if it will be the red or the gray.

On the last page, there is the listing for the 1983 model (my model). Shows two colors - a gold and a crimson black.

 

My bike is definitely not gold. But there are definitely 2 colors on my bike which I believe are original. A deep red/purple and a gray or black.

 

Looks like the code for Sparkle Crimson Black is OAY. I'll take that to a paint store and see if they can show me a sample.

My '85 says it is Gloriuos Maxi Brown and Marshall Gold. What they are calling Marshall Gold sure looks Gray to me! But then, it may have faded some to end up looking gray.

I'm not sure how well you can see it in this picture - definitely 2 colors. Look at the luggage or the side cover under the seat.

The red is a metallic color so it is likely the Crimson Sparkle. What the other color is, I don't know.

lol, i kicked that image up to 400% in IE and it looks brown to me.

not sure if it will help but on the venture history page( top dark blue highlighted line near ) click on that link and look all the way to the bottom of that page and there is a color scheme breakdown by year. Might help.
