A few pi'cs of my 660 installed. I didn't use the mount setup that came with it....didn't care for the U Bolt set up. I used a Kury 1" clamp and a threaded Ram Ball mount.

As I'm waiting on my 665 to be delivered on Monday, can anybody tell me if it has the remote microphone input jack like the 550 has? I have the BuddyRich cable installed to enable the phone to come through the headset and it requires the microphone input.

Not sure how it works as I don't use it, but is does have a 2.5mm mic jack on the motorcycle mount power cable. Also uses 3.5 mm audio out jack.

Well my 665 arrived yesterday. I had to leave for Evansville, IN immediately so didn't have time to check the firmware and etc. There are a LOT of things that I like about it but I did have a problem with it shutting down from time to time. It shut down and had to be restarted 3 times before I got to Evansville about 10:00 last night.

The first thing I did when I got to the hotel was to use the Webupdater software to update the firmware. From all that I've heard, that should pretty much take care of the problem with it shutting down.

So, if that issue is resolved, I think I'm going to be very happy with this unit. The only other thing that I'm not sure of yet is that the XM volume seems to lower than on the 550. If it's an issue then it's something else that I think could be corrected with a Firmware update but I'm not even sure yet that it's a problem.

Just a couple of things that I really like after this first test.

Lane guidance. This was the biggest reason that I wanted to upgrade. Since losing the site in my right eye, lane changes to the right take a little longer. I use the GPS in my work car a lot and in the larger cities, I sometimes don't know if my exit is going to be to the right or left until I'm almost upon it. Then I have to get over pretty quickly to make my exit and that is hard when you can't see to your right. The lane guidance feature gives me all the time I need to get in the correct lane.

Clock. It automatically changes to the correct time zone. On the 550, you had to change it manually if you wanted the correct time to show. This one changes automatically and shows your arrival time in the time zone you will be in.

Slightly larger screen. Not a big deal. I felt that the 550 screen was large enough but it doesn't hurt that this one is just slightly larger.

One thing that I at first though was pretty cool was the different display modes. More map, More menu, Standard. It allows you to better control how much information is shown on the main screen with the map. After playing with it though, I've decided that I like the Standard view best so it's really not a big deal. The "more map" screen would be pretty nice IF it showed the exit number and etc. like the standard menu does.

One thing I don't like is that there is no audio out on the car mount. On the 550, there was an audio out on the car mount so when I removed the GPS all I had to do was remove it and stick it in my briefcase or hide it. On the 665, the only audio out is on the unit so I have to unplug the audio cable. It's not like this is a big job but I'm concerned with it wearing out the jack by plugging it in and unplugging it so often. Only time will tell if that's a valid concern.
