RoadKill Posted May 9, 2010 #1 Posted May 9, 2010 Cancelled my reservations for MD. Just too darn much going on this year and $$ tight. Deciding to stay close to home this year. Doesn't help that we bought a new camper either. Feel like I should get my money out of it and have more family time. Won't be long my son will be feeling too old to do stuff with Dad and Mom. Hope you all have a good time and everyone is safe.
Hummingbird Posted May 9, 2010 #2 Posted May 9, 2010 Nice camper - we also have a travel trailer. 2 years ago I bought a Rampage Lift for my truck, so now I can take the bike with us when we go camping. We tried the Quick Camp behind the bike a few years ago, took one really nice 2 week trip to the Grand canyon in Pa and Cook forest. Loved it - got home and sold it. We both prefer the Travel Trailer - too many amenities to give up, so the quick camp was gone
Freebird Posted May 9, 2010 #3 Posted May 9, 2010 Very nice camper and I understand your reasoning in regards to wanting to spend time with your son. Dylan is a senior this year and I can only sit back and be amazed that the years have gone by so quickly. We will miss you at maintenance day though. I think you have been to all of them.
BEER30 Posted May 9, 2010 #4 Posted May 9, 2010 Dang , Going to miss ya this year. Money crunch has affected us all in some form and fashion. Don't worry about the son not wanting to go camping.......as long as the GF's are invited , LOL ! Heck , we have 2 young male employees at work whom if possible will camp under the stars every night if they could get away with it. My son went through that phase and now asks all the time when we will take the boat out to the island so we can camp. Heck, he has stolen over half my camping equipment. Boy will be boys , and it's the wives that get more tired of camping and want more luxury. But hey I can't blame them for all the BS we guys give them. They deserve it ......sometimes! BEER30
FROG MAN Posted May 9, 2010 #5 Posted May 9, 2010 Enjoy the time with family and the new camper as much as possible. Most people buy one but never take time to use it. We used ours religiously raising the kids. There a great investment if you take the time to enjoy them.
Gamecock Posted May 9, 2010 #6 Posted May 9, 2010 I'm gonna have to cancel also. This accident has really put a wrench in all of my plans. I hope to be back on 2 wheels by the fall and will be at MD in 2011. Ben
Eck Posted May 9, 2010 #7 Posted May 9, 2010 Not me...I'm gonna be there ........Already got the OK from my new boss....

RoadKill Posted May 10, 2010 Author #9 Posted May 10, 2010 I'll definetely miss being there. I have been to everyone except the very 1st. As far as bringing the camper, economically it would cost more than riding the bike and a motel. As you can imagine the truck doesn't get the best mileage when towing the camper. We are fortunate to have a very nice state park only 25 miles away that we really enjoy going to. I'll be looking for all the pictures so everyone take plenty.
