I'm gonna say this one time....Car tires are NOT made for motorcycles. If you research it, you will find that car tires are not made for cornering. No matter who says what, the experts will tell you NOT to do it.

My opinion...If your in a corner...How much tire contact is there on the road compared to a motorcycle tire.....

I would rather spendthe extra money for a motorcycle tire than put my and my wifes life in a dangerous situation.......

The question shouldn't be how much contact (how much contact does the MC make in a corner?), but how much grip. For a large, heavy cruiser like mine, the answer is more than I can use. I still can scrape my floorboards, so I am getting plenty of traction. The dark side isn't for sports bikes, but for MY bike it works just fine.

On a side note, when did motorcycle specific tires start being made and what did bikes come with before then?

Although I did mean to get the points across that I did, I didn't mean them to sound so harsh. That's what happens when I post early in the morning just before having to rush to get ready for work. :confused24:

I'm really just a Teddy Bear. :rotf: :hihi: :rotf:

ooo ooo. I know! Car tires are what most guys ran before MT were made widely available. I'm a board scraper too and I love the DS tire. Sorry, I just had to play the smart !#$ role for a second.:D

Well, to answer my own question, Goodyear has been making motorcyle tire since at least 1914 http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=uAMuAAAAIBAJ&sjid=bSgDAAAAIBAJ&pg=2693,441592&hl=en
