vin man Posted May 10, 2010 #27 Posted May 10, 2010 $2.99 for the full version and the reviews in the app store are far from great.... Did you iphoners download from App store? If so, is it worth the $3 ? There are some things that can NOT be done via iPhone broswer, like selecting a drop down box for searching...... I would not rate it as "great". However, it is far superior to using the browser. In fact, of all the apps I have on my apple, this is the only one I ever purchased. All the others are free apps. Using the browser is troublesome because you need to move things around, resize, etc. The app formats it for the smartphone and only gives the critical information. I really like it. You can try the free version of the app which I believe lets you read posts, but not reply.
Gray Ghost Posted May 10, 2010 #28 Posted May 10, 2010 I finally found the forum listing in tapatalk. i like this much better than trying to read a forum in a browser on this phone. Plus with speech recognition I don't even have to thumb type. Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
Twenty7Delta Posted May 10, 2010 #29 Posted May 10, 2010 Speech recognition! No way, I hope they bring that to the iPhone, or perhaps I haven't found it yet... I use dragon dictation and search all the time to reduce typing...
Owen Posted May 10, 2010 #30 Posted May 10, 2010 Speech recognition! No way, I hope they bring that to the iPhone, or perhaps I haven't found it yet... I use dragon dictation and search all the time to reduce typing... From the home screen, press and hold the home button... requires 3g, 3gs...
GigaWhiskey Posted May 10, 2010 #31 Posted May 10, 2010 I installed hte free version. It works well. I have no need to post using it so the free version will do me for now. When and I really need it, I will purchase it and hope the price comes down a bit. Besides, out of all the forums I go into, VR.org is th eonly one they have. I did find one forum for the sick folks called Kink Talk. Yea, the name explains the content, lol.
Twenty7Delta Posted May 10, 2010 #32 Posted May 10, 2010 From the home screen, press and hold the home button... requires 3g, 3gs... Thanks, got that part but voice in tapatalk would be cool...
Guest tx2sturgis Posted August 3, 2010 #33 Posted August 3, 2010 Freebird, I am getting an occasional update notice on the Tapatalk app on my iphone. It says to contact the forum administrator and advise them that the Tapatalk module needs updating...or something to that effect. In a few days I will be heading to South Dakota and would like to be able to keep up with all the juicy happenings over in the trailer thread.... Or not. Thanks Don!
Freebird Posted August 3, 2010 Author #34 Posted August 3, 2010 OK...I just downloaded and installed the latest version. Let me know if it's working and if you still get that message.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted August 3, 2010 #36 Posted August 3, 2010 Just logged in and out with tapatalk....seems to be working...thanks!
Freebird Posted August 3, 2010 Author #37 Posted August 3, 2010 No problem. Thanks for letting me know. I don't use it so don't know of any issues unless it's reported here.
slick97spirit Posted August 3, 2010 #38 Posted August 3, 2010 Awesome. Just got the phone & just down loaded the ap
BuddyRich Posted August 3, 2010 #39 Posted August 3, 2010 Great, now I can even log on with my phone. There might be some kind of addiction here... lol Sent from my HTC EVO using Tapatalk
Scooter Bob Posted August 3, 2010 #40 Posted August 3, 2010 I just got an Android phone a week ago. Loaded the Tapatalk app for $2.99. As others mentioned, works much better than trying to use the web browser. Now, I'm just waiting for a new scavenger hunt target. I can shoot the pic with the phone in the camera and upload right away. And for some reason it loads pics much faster than using the DSL at home. Thanks for adding the stuff to make this work Don. Just my , Scooter Bob
Snaggletooth Posted February 7, 2013 #41 Posted February 7, 2013 Just running a search on Tap-A-Tap for my Android cell. When I access the web and log on here it refers me to a app called ForumRunner, a Tap-A-Talk product. The reviews on ForumRunner aren't all that great so I searched the apps available on my phone. Great, got a bunch of them, all defined by colors. So......... the phone is smarter than I am so here I am. Any recommendations? Preferences? Advice?
PBJ Posted February 7, 2013 #42 Posted February 7, 2013 I've had my Andriod about a year now and i've always been able to get to the venture site without paying. I have gotten a prompt for the app but never down loaded it and never needed to. i EVEN ADDED A SHORTCUT TO THE HOME PAGE AND ALL I HAVE TO DO IS PUT IN MY NAME AND PASSWORD. I can read every post and even post answers. But Thanks Don.
