Freebird Posted May 8, 2010 #1 Posted May 8, 2010 OK folks..I know very little about this as I don't use an Iphone, Blackberry, etc. I had a request to add this feature so decided to give it a try. If you use one of the phones that support this app, you are welcome to test it out. I noticed on their website that they do have a beta app out now for the Blackberry also. Tapatalk is a mobile forum app for iPhone / Android and soon to be on Blackberry and Nokia. Tapatalk supports vBulletin (3.x and 4.x) and phpBB forums and forum owner can activate this service for free. Tapatalk supports all the usual forum functions plus full screen image viewing, image upload, caching (less reload), private messaging, all these features are accessible in just a few simple taps. TrainMaster Posted May 8, 2010 #2 Posted May 8, 2010 Added to my Droid. Works good so far. Ken Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
awsmsrv Posted May 8, 2010 #3 Posted May 8, 2010 Heck, I can already read, post, etc., from my BlackBerry with the mobile Bolt browser. The built-in BB browser is not that good. Opera Mini isn't bad either, but, I've been using Bolt for quite awhile now. What advantage does Tapatalk give you?
Freebird Posted May 8, 2010 Author #4 Posted May 8, 2010 I don't use any of them. I had a request to add the feature and it didn't require too much programming on my end so I added it. Have no idea what advantage it offers.
Twenty7Delta Posted May 8, 2010 #5 Posted May 8, 2010 For me, the advantages are it's much quicker, the navigation is easier too. I can view the boards on my browser but this app just show mr the posts and pics. It also work with the PMs and seems quicker than on the web.

Guest tx2sturgis Posted May 10, 2010 #14 Posted May 10, 2010 I have been wondering if there was an iPhone mobile app for vbulletin...never thought to ask...I will try it out...
Guest tx2sturgis Posted May 10, 2010 #15 Posted May 10, 2010 Yep! works! Posting from the iphone. Cool!
awsmsrv Posted May 10, 2010 #16 Posted May 10, 2010 I've got a BlackBerry 8830, dowmloaded TapaTalk, but, get a message saying it's been decomissioned. Does that mean I must buy a different version? The one I downloaded is a Beta version. Thanks.
Midrsv Posted May 10, 2010 #17 Posted May 10, 2010 Thanks! I had never heard of the app but it seems to work well. Now I can cruise the forums while I wait for my wife to shop. Dennis
hig4s Posted May 10, 2010 #18 Posted May 10, 2010 Well I got it loaded, works ok, but eats the battery like it was candy.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted May 10, 2010 #19 Posted May 10, 2010 Now...if it would only work in the chatroom! I could give the regulars 'heck' from points far and wide!
Gray Ghost Posted May 10, 2010 #20 Posted May 10, 2010 I installed the program, but cannot find venturerider when I search for the forum. Where did you other Droid users manage to snag it?
Owen Posted May 10, 2010 #21 Posted May 10, 2010 On my iPhone, it was at the very end of the list... about page 3 or 4. Looks like they were added in order of their sign up or something. I saw no rhyme or reason for the order...

The one I downloaded is a Beta version. Thanks. I didnt' even know there was a blackberry version. IF you find one that works, please let me know!
FutureVentures Posted May 10, 2010 #23 Posted May 10, 2010 $2.99 for the full version and the reviews in the app store are far from great.... Did you iphoners download from App store? If so, is it worth the $3 ? There are some things that can NOT be done via iPhone broswer, like selecting a drop down box for searching......
Dave77459 Posted May 10, 2010 #24 Posted May 10, 2010 I installed the program, but cannot find venturerider when I search for the forum. Where did you other Droid users manage to snag it? I searched for Venture. It was last on the list. Dave

If so, is it worth the $3 ? There are some things that can NOT be done via iPhone broswer, like selecting a drop down box for searching...... At first I got the free app but all you can do is read. Then purcased the $3 app and you can view attached pics, reply to post, use and reply to pm's and search forums. So much better than using safari on the iphone.
