sgtjcj Posted May 6, 2010 #1 Posted May 6, 2010 I am looking to hook up my heated gear.My plan was to run a relay off of a wire that is only hot when the bike is running. Does anybody know of such a wire on the RSDT? I have them on my cars and have had them on 2 Yamahas. I have studied the wiring schematic but I can't find one. Thanks
dingy Posted May 6, 2010 #2 Posted May 6, 2010 These fuses are only energized when key is in RUN position on an RSV. I don't have the RSTD schematic. But they should be some what similar as far as fuse functions. You could tap of off any of them to energize a relay coil. Ignition Cruise Fan Carb Heater Signal Gary
Leland Posted May 6, 2010 #3 Posted May 6, 2010 If you have an '05-'09 RSTD, under the driver's seat is an odd white plug that is capped. They call this an auxiliary DC jack that is rated for like 5 amps. I didn't have any luck finding a companion plug so I just cut the odd plug off and wired directly. This plug is hot only while the ignition switch is in either ACC or ON. Since it has a low amp rating, it is only suitable to energize a relay coil.
