mike_kelly_68 Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Any one have any knowledge or documentation on a '93 era Shadow 1100. I have one in the garage that I am working on for a friend. He has a Climbers for it but It does not even give fuse locations. Thanks
Tartan Terror Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Fuses on those are under the seat and under the side cover I think its the left side. Rt side is a storage place for papers and the tool kit. If what you are looking for isnt there there is also another fuse box/ wire junction under the tank so you will need to remove it. Last but not least all the rest is in the headlight bucket. Look in that order because the most common need ones to access are in the easier places.
mike_kelly_68 Posted May 5, 2010 Author Posted May 5, 2010 Thanks, that is what I thought. Actually, I am having trouble with fuel. Tank and Carbs have been cleaned?? by a shop. but bike is still very rough, low speed. I have put in a can of SeaFoam, filled it and put about 15 miles on it. Gonna let it set for the night and try after work in the morning. Thanks again
straycatt Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Do you have the idle set too low? I've had carbs that I cleaned, that still functioned poorly. It took a third cleaning to get them right. Do you have a vacume leak at the carb boots. I had an '04 Spirit 11 so I'm familiar with that motor. You can also get some good info at http://www.hondashadow.net Good luck
mike_kelly_68 Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Thanx for the info. I actually have the idle set high to get more seafoam into the carbs. Had it pretty good yesterday, but started to starve when I hit 5th getting on the big road, of course I was gouging on it. Has big pipes and seems to be rich also. Checked the plugs today, front are carbon fouled the rear are oil and carbon fouled. Will not idle at all now, I guess I will have to pull the carbs. That looks like a job the way they are nestled in the frame. Thanx again, anything else will help.
