Is there a difference between the 85/86, and 87 trunk? I found a light bar for the 85/86, but was told it would not fit the 87. Anyone know the difference?

The '86 up trunk is bolted directly onto the rack, so the '87 is the same thing. The '85 trunk, although it looks the same attaches differently as I believe it is removable like the other 1200 MKI's. I know some of our boys with the '85 will correct me if I'm wrong

My 85 trunk looks the same as the trunk on the 86 and up but mine is removable. I have heard that the trunks are interchangeable and I think the reflector on the back is the same as well, BUT I am not 100% on that. I beleive what makes mine removable is the one year only chrom rack under the trunk that allows it to slide off and on and lock.

The 85 trunk is removable. 86 and up have a better/taller backrest and armrests, with the backrest taller than the trunk lid. The 85 trunk backrest is the same height as the trunk lid.

Funny you should mention it, one of my future projects is to make an 87 trunk work like an 85...
