curtis Posted May 2, 2010 #1 Posted May 2, 2010 I was checking to see if someone can help me. The first set of pictures is of my highway pegs bracket. I am wanting to know if anyone can tell me what they are made out of and if there is a way for me to cold weld them back together. I don't know if something like J-B weld will hold them. I really hate to buy a new set when all I need is this one piece. The second picture can somebody please tell me where on the bike these go. The last set can somebody tell me what they fit. I bought them off Ebay because I thought they would fit my bike. They have don't have the flap to make them open like a door. They have a lever in place of a lock and then 2 pegs sticking out on the other side. I don't know if they fit something with the radio or not. They don't fit my bike and i would be willing to trade them or sell them. I am looking for a set for the left side I don't have a radio just the pocket.
curtis Posted May 2, 2010 Author #2 Posted May 2, 2010 This is the second picture that should have been on there. I know they fit the bike but I don't know where they go.
oldgoat Posted May 2, 2010 #3 Posted May 2, 2010 hello i broke my higway peg mounts and i got them of pinwalls cycle off ebay both for 15 bucks plus shipping give them a try just my:2cents:
massey130 Posted May 2, 2010 #4 Posted May 2, 2010 I believe your peg clamp is toast, a goner, cahpoot. i have tried mending stuff like that. i quit trying as it never worked. i have a similar problem, my left handlebar grip broke. can't buy just one.
GigaWhiskey Posted May 2, 2010 #5 Posted May 2, 2010 The smaller plastic piece looks to go where the overflow tank is on the right side. This is when there is not a CB installed. The larger plastic piece looks to go on the right side for where there is no radio. They both look to fit an MKI but would prolly work on an MKII also. And also maybe not a Royale, just the Venture but do not quote me on that.
MiCarl Posted May 2, 2010 #6 Posted May 2, 2010 The pieces on the fax machine appear to be the trim panels that go below the seat and behind the luggage on a MKII Venture. The large plastic piece (last 2 pics in first post) appears to be the filler panel used on a MKII Royale (maybe MKI too) when the radio and tape deck are removed.
curtis Posted May 2, 2010 Author #7 Posted May 2, 2010 The large plastic piece (last 2 pics in first post) appears to be the filler panel used on a MKII Royale (maybe MKI too) when the radio and tape deck are removed. What I don't understand is on my original covers on the back side there is a flap about 3/4 of an inch that has 3 hole in it that you put screws through to make it open like a door. On this one there are 4 post sicking out of the bottom side of the left one and 2 on the right one plus the lock. I don't have 4 holes in my bike to mount them.
bongobobny Posted May 2, 2010 #9 Posted May 2, 2010 Those pegs were aftermarket, and are cast white metal. Shame, I threw out one of those a few months ago. Yes, those dash covers are for where the optional CB goeson a MK1, and where the radio goes on the other side on a "Standard." Can't say if I ever saw those pieces on your fax machine, but may be as suggested for MK 2 below the trunk... PS I have seen people cut that radio piece and install a "Guy it at Wally World" radio there!
