Beth and I will be heading to Savannah the first week of September, spending a few day s in the area.

What sites are a must see? What roads are a must ride?

We plan on spending some time there, then working our way up the coast to meet up with the Chipcoteague Island tour on Sept. 10th.

Thanks

I like the old riverfront and Tybee Island is closeby as well. Haven't had a chance to explore all of Savannah. supposed to go to a wedding there this summer, hopefully we'll have some time to spend there.

River Street is nice, but don't ride your bike down on it. I've heard it called cobblestone, but it's not. Really scary to ride the bike on that stuff. There's way too much to do in Savannah to list. It's a beautiful place. Here's there visitor site might help out a bit with your plans.

We really love Savanna, lots to see around there. Don't know about the riding, as I recall bike riding is not all that great there.

The River front is neat and like Mini said be careful down in that area on the bike. I went down one of the ramps while I was there and thought I was going swimming bike and all but I didn't.

Tybee Island is a neat ride. There's an old fort there also.

And best of all is the food. Great Seafood and lots of restaurants.

Have fun.

The Pirate House is a good place to eat,. Story is the place was used to abduct drunken patrons and take them via tunnels straight to ships to make them work on ships that sailed around the world! :scared:we also took one of the tours around town that originated at that resturant. It was a ghost tour at night,---awesome. Like was said from someone else there is a ton to do and see a! round there. Enjoy

Old Market area in the center of town, just a couple blocks from the water front.

Lots of small museums in antebellum houses around town.

Riverside is nice.. Not Cobble Stone.. All Brick and very rough.. There is a nice holiday inn that is biker freindly close to riverside. Ride out to Tybee Island.. On your way out there, on the left will be fort pulaski.. Real neat old fort. When you get to tybee go to the end and take a left toward the beach. lots of parking. Fannies on the beach, good place to eat.. supposedly the best bloody mary's.
