I was trying to find the post about a member making

some off-set brackets last year to make it so his wife's

legs would go down farther on the passenger floor boards .

but I can not seem to find it in

the search. I am looking for the post for another RSV Owner

any help would be great.

Thanks,

Jeff

Well, I can't help ya there Jeff, but I will tell you that I am in the early stages of designing some brackets that will allow me to mount some flip-up pegs lower and to the front of the passenger floorboards. My wife wants to be able to stretch out her legs sometimes, but not all the time. If this works as planned, she'll be able to fold the floorboards up and flip the pegs down into position for some stretch time. And then when tired of that position she'll be able to go back to the floorboards.

I had planned on having this done by now, but life has gotten in the way. I'll let you know if I succeed.

do you want to relocate the passenger boards?

or just have another place for her to rest her feet?

the diamond r passenger highway pegs are a great addition, but not cheap..

but on the brighter side.. they are chrome!:whistling:

Nope, this is NOT for me. I have already added hwy pegs to my trike

for my wife remember the chrome bar you brought back to me?

She loves the fact that she now can stretch her legs to relieve the pressure

on her legs. they work awesome.

The first post was the prototype so I could figure out what angles I needed

to finished, but not chromed yet product --is POST # 27

Mike, I can not even find my OLD post on the finished Chrome

that was from post 27 and how pretty it all looked when it was finished,

at least to me :D

Chrome is still holding up real well. you will see them next week.

Here is my VERY DIRTY CHROME MESSY BIKE *sigh*:confused24:

That will be Cleaned this weekend :happy65:anyways here

are the finished mods. even the Big Old horn fits in there.

They have been in use now for over a year and the wife

loves them. as she has a bad knee and needs the stretch

it out once in a while. there has been NO issues with this MOD.

Warning:: This MOD CAN NOT be Done unless Triked.

The warning is not so much for the lean. it just gets in the way

when the kick-stand has to go back up. I almost had it to were

I had it working with having the kickstand. but no go.

Diamond's does not allow the wife to stretch out, these are built for short women, not tall women. So far I have been waiting on someone to design the floorboards so that they can drop when she wants them too.

sleeperhawk. Well that post I was looking for shows how to make that mod.

I agree with you comment about the DR's. I looked into that a long time ago.

My wife has long legs.

Yeah, I know...but I'm depressed. My favorite Rally (Wild Hog - Helena, AR) is being RAINED out (severe storms)...and I am BORED. I'll stop now while I'm behind. LOL

I don't know if you ever noticed, but there are a second set of holes on the trunk mount that allow you to put the trunk back about an inch. You just have to come up with some spacers on the rear holes as the trunk sets on top of the rear bar and needs about a 1/2" spacer between the trunk and trunk mount. Mine was set up that way but Hannigan would not remount it saying it makes to big of a space between the trunk sides and the rear body. I say Horse Pucky!! They were just to lazy to McGuiver a little bit because the rear holes do not have nute welded, so they can't just screw them in. Soooo, I just inserte some 6mm screws upside down from the botom and put some lock nuts to hold the "studs" in place and put nuts inside the trunk instead. Looks OK but I am going to put a wide chrome plastic strip around the sides and rear so you won't see any gap...

Hey Jeff,

Would your passenger peg mod work on a Voyager trike conversion. :confused24: I don't use the side stand, so hope the answer is yes.

The right knee doesn't bend anymore, and I have been looking at how I could ride as a pillion on my bike.

I can't use any other bike now, so on long trips, or if pain gets worse I would like to be able to swap with AL and become the passenger for awhile..........but have no-where to put the right foot :bawling:

Mines a 2007, so will your mod fit  If so, would you be willing to send me instructions, measurements, etc. :confused24: to see if someone could make them for me?????????????

Annie, It sure would..YES As long as you will never use the side stand anymore.

The mod mounts to where the center-stand would go. If your careful with the wires and such, you can also put the side stand back on in the future as well.

I will get some pictures sent, and you will need to find a welder that can bend (1") stainless steal and has it in stock. you will also need to find a plating shop

if you wanted it chromed. if you look in my older post you can see the stainless steal not chromed yet.

Yep, that was my wife first compliant. I had to move the trunk back ASAP.

I used (2) car shock washers for spacers and (2) longer bolts and moved that

trunk back , she noticed right off the bat that she was pushed forward to much.

With the shock washers you will be able to adjust the trunk to the proper height so has to not hit the lip of the trike body and looks great. no trim work.

Annie, here are some photo's of how I started, the first one is a few

days before I send the bike out fro triking. noticed the side stand.

I believe I was at about 45 degs and the plate that will be welded to the

stainless steal round bar that will attach to the center-stand plate under

the bike. let me know if you need more info. this will be a multiple post

before chrome and after.

This is with them finished and chromed. show both these posts to your welder

the plate that will be welded to the bar is stainless as well. the inside dimensions

will be a 1/4 inch from the heat shields on each side.

I hope this help, also when you use the hwy pegs you will also be able to go

out forward even more .

Note:: the hose clamps on each side of the main plate , I added them so when I want to remove the bar for some reason , I just loosen them up a bit , undo the two bolts

and the bar will roll foreword it is also a little more strength for the passenger when more compression of the feet are applied to the pegs.

works very well and this set up is very strong.

good luck and let me know how it worked out for you.
