Picking up wife's new car today

Been shopping for a different SUV for my wife so today we will be picking up an 08 Lincoln MKX with 9,000 miles. She's been driving an 07 Pacifica but we got a good deal that we couldn't turn down. We drove the Pacifica for 2 years and will get 2,000 less than we paid for it. Also, we are getting the MKX @ way below NADA book.

I've never driven one but they sure look great. Ford has come a LONG way over the past few years. Not that they were ever really bad but they just seem to have gotten their act together much quicker than the other US car makers.

We just got rid of ours. I know I will miss it, BUT the book values of these SUV's

are dropping like a rock; hard and fast. When we picked up our new car last week

they gave us 128% of its value though. So what I am agreeing with is that now

is the time to by a used one , if you need one.

A 30K SUV that was bought 2 years ago , might be worth 15K now if that.

We gave 17,000 for our 07 Pacifica two years and 35,000 miles ago - got 15,000 on trade and got the MKX at Trade-in-value. The main thing is my wife loves it and she's picky! Might be time to buy another piece of chrome for my bike as she's in a great mood today!
