Ottawa Posted April 22, 2010 #1 Posted April 22, 2010 Need some help here. I am ordering some fork seals and want to make sure of the model #. I can't find anything on motor and the ownership says "XVS" !! I am prity sure they mean Z not S. Anyway how can I tell between a "N" "TK" or what ever it could be. Or, does it mater at all since all 1985 XVZ12 Ventures are mostly the same. Your help is appreciated!

dingy Posted April 22, 2010 #6 Posted April 22, 2010 I believe all the MKI seals are the same, maybe even the MKII. I just put a set of seals I had ordered for my 83 forks into a set of 86 forks and they are working fine. Gary
BradT Posted April 22, 2010 #7 Posted April 22, 2010 yours will be xvz12 D ,... if youre the 85 Venture Royale. I dont know what the Standard is I think the standard were DS or something with two letters ? Brad
friesman Posted April 22, 2010 #8 Posted April 22, 2010 If youre gonna do fork seals mabbe you should look at spending another 50 or 60 bucks and put in progressive springs if yours are still original springs. It makes a huge difference to handling and no more bottoming out on those driveways etc. Brian
