It would be pretty tough to find one now. The new ones are the same as mine with the flame decals. I figure a good hot air gun and you peal those right off.

If it wasn't clear coated then the edge would be "sharp" ... you would be able to catch the edge with a razor knife or for that matter, any knife. On my '85 and my '87, the pinstrips are clear coated over... same thing on my '83 wing and I'm guessing they are on the 2nd gens that have striping as well so I would suspect these "flames" would be also. Someone go down to a dealer that has one of these and when nobody is looking, see if you can lift the edge of the flame with a knife....

jburrell Posted April 20, 2010 #9 Posted April 20, 2010 You can have a dealer check the database nationally to see if anyone has a 07 midnight sitting around then the dealer can have it shipped to his dealership. However, I would just look for a "used low mileage one" as that may be easier. OF course a "New" 07 would still have 5 yrs of warranty left but I doubt if you can get as good a deal. Just my Not sure I want to give $14k for the new one though.

Someone needs to get out the heat gun and tell us. The reason for the 07 search is because it was the last year of the midnight. You might say the 2010 is a midnight well kinda, but those hidious flames. Would be nice to know if they will come off. If so one could find the chrome eye brows and a studded seat and Abracadabra you have your self a midnight RSV
