dave_wells Posted April 18, 2010 #3 Posted April 18, 2010 Myself riding solo My weight is 260 Trailer full is about 400 5th gear works just fine on the straight and flat 4th in the hill country more pick up going up hill works as a break going down Pull your trailer a few times you will find what works best for you Be Safe Dave
sarges46 Posted April 18, 2010 #4 Posted April 18, 2010 They roll pretty easy Charlie. Once going you should be able to use 5th at highway speed. You will find yourself shifting more in the hills though. Lots of guys drive in 4th only and seldon use 5th even without a trailer. You are going to have to drive it around some to see what suits you. I use 5th and I pull a camper which is fairly heavy.
Brake Pad Posted April 18, 2010 #5 Posted April 18, 2010 I just take my time rolling through the gears, but 5th is the over all best gear. 2 up 450 lbs with trailer and gear. I just stay to the right, let all the Cages and road rage meatheads, fly buy me. Ride safe
