Royal star tour deluxe oem mufflers wanted

A Venture rider I know is looking to change his mufflers out for some Tour Deluxe mufflers with the adjustable tips.

 

Does anyone have a set they would like to sell?

 

We looked at just putting the TD tips on the Venture mufflers, they will fit in the ends, but the Venture mufflers lack the threaded inserts used to fasten the tips on. I doubt that the sheet metal on the inside of the muffler cone is strong enough to hold the tips on with out the threaded inserts.

 

Has anyone tried adding the TD tips to stock Venture muflers?

My stock Venture mufflers have had RSTD tips in them fir several years. They hold. Just drill them and use a tap and die to thread the holes.

I got lucky a couple or three years ago and picked up a new set of TD mufflers off Ebay for $50.00.

 

I know that Rick Butler also put the tips on his Venture mufflers though and I think did it the same way that Ahoutzer did. I think he said though that he used a punch to make the holes. He then used the tap and that way had the full depth of the punched metal to tap.
