joebo360 Posted April 17, 2010 #1 Posted April 17, 2010 can someone please tell me where to get the wiring to tow a trailor? I would like to hook one up.
BuckShot Posted April 17, 2010 #2 Posted April 17, 2010 Do you have the trailer? Do you need a 4 or 5 pin wire harness? Any auto supply store sells what you need. Where to wire into your bike, I couldn't tell you. But someone will chime in.
eusa1 Posted April 17, 2010 #3 Posted April 17, 2010 under the seat between the battery and the rear fender. mike
dingy Posted April 17, 2010 #4 Posted April 17, 2010 Attached is a PDF I made for the RSV's showing a trailer wiring hook up. 1st gen's will be the same as far a tying into lights. Gary
dave_wells Posted April 17, 2010 #5 Posted April 17, 2010 You may want to get the trailer first or at the least know the type of connection the trailer has example My camper has the amber blinkers separate from the brake and running Some may call it independent blinkers My tour deluxe has the same same setup as the trailer easy set up My cargo trailer had 2 lights on the back very common each light has each does running brake and blinker you will need an adapter for this any auto store as some one mentioned 4 or 5 pin connector I have 1 of each on the bike The connections are under the set Then run it out along the frame under the saddle bag I can try to get you a picture I may be doing a few things on the bike Sunday I will have the seat off I hope this helps out There are plenty of people here to help you
casabroker Posted May 3, 2010 #6 Posted May 3, 2010 Under the seat left side is the brake wiring coupling. Just use the squeeze together couplings to connect your plug. I have about a 3 foot plug and when i need it i just run it between the bag anfd down to the trailer. When not in use I wind it up and stuff it under the tool kit.
