Grandpagak Posted April 16, 2010 #1 Posted April 16, 2010 woked up this mornin and what did i saw??? my bike tipped over by the wind.. :crying::crying:... the windsheild was between the wifes front tire and the fender.. the bike is ok, but skuffed up pretty badly.. here are the pictures after kriss and i picked it up.. I hate redo's.. really bites!!
LilBeaver Posted April 16, 2010 #2 Posted April 16, 2010 Ouch. That is something I always worry about when I park my bike. Especially with the way the wind is in this part of the country. I guess it could have been worse Comprehensive coverage ought to take care of that... presuming you've got that coverage, and your deductible is reasonable...
silent67 Posted April 16, 2010 #3 Posted April 16, 2010 Man that sux, hope it don't cost you to much to fix. I love that color, who painted it.
oldschool Posted April 16, 2010 #4 Posted April 16, 2010 Hey my friend....if you need a windshield.....you pay for shipping then you can have the extra one I have. I still have one left after that on my parts bike.
Yammer Dan Posted April 16, 2010 #5 Posted April 16, 2010 Been there had that done. Pulled onto drive and mine were stacked on top of each other. Busted "UGLY" up pretty good wasn't very nice to other two. Good luck fixing it.

Just like you I have to repaint stuff and I am gonna start that next week.
bongobobny Posted April 16, 2010 #7 Posted April 16, 2010 Man, that sure sux Gary!!! Now if it was a trike that wouldn't have happened...
Grandpagak Posted April 16, 2010 Author #8 Posted April 16, 2010 Man that sux, hope it don't cost you to much to fix. I love that color, who painted it. thanx.. i painted it myself.. good thing that i still have paint left..
RandyR Posted April 16, 2010 #9 Posted April 16, 2010 Had the wind blow over a Honda GL500 about 15 years ago. Not a good thing to have happen...
Flyinfool Posted April 16, 2010 #10 Posted April 16, 2010 Is this a possible case of the side stand being to long and/or the air pressure in the suspension being to low causing the bike to be standing to straight up? This is something that I always worry about with mine and I was thinking of modifying the side stand to make it more stable when parked.
YamaDude Posted April 16, 2010 #11 Posted April 16, 2010 Wow sorry to hear about that, and I thought the wind blew hard here in southern Ontario...
Rocket Posted April 16, 2010 #12 Posted April 16, 2010 Is this a possible case of the side stand being to long and/or the air pressure in the suspension being to low causing the bike to be standing to straight up? Nope, a bit of a side slope with higher on left side. He should have parked with the front wheel facing uphill, or by the garage. I have parked there a few times......
Evan Posted April 16, 2010 #13 Posted April 16, 2010 Gary - Your bike looks like it was sweet and clean before the fall. I can only imagine how much that spoiled your day and much more. Good luck on restoring it to a condition that makes you want to smile again when you look at it.
84xj1100 Posted April 16, 2010 #14 Posted April 16, 2010 Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!! That's a real shame.......That is one nice looking paint job you did on that and I sure love all those accent lights So sorry to hear/see that Optomistic perspective...at least it she didn't go down in a collision with you on her
Flyinfool Posted April 16, 2010 #15 Posted April 16, 2010 Nope, a bit of a side slope with higher on left side. He should have parked with the front wheel facing uphill, or by the garage. I have parked there a few times...... That is why I am thinking of modding mine, So that I do not have to find a "perfect" parking spot, or play as many games getting into the best orientation.
friesman Posted April 16, 2010 #16 Posted April 16, 2010 I am sorry to see that happen to your nice new paint job and great looking bike. Brian
Grandpagak Posted April 17, 2010 Author #17 Posted April 17, 2010 thanx guys.. i think that the tire got low.. ive got a really slo leak.. about every 2-3 weeks..:crying:

Karl C. Posted April 24, 2010 #21 Posted April 24, 2010 that sucketh..... but if you were wanting to change the color for any reason this would give you a reason too...lol.. but i have to admit the color you have is very nice.. After reading about the wind blowing bikes over on here I have been really watching how and where I park mine. My venture is in a garage right now but my sabre isnt. But hopefully I will have my own garage by summers end and then both bikes get a heated garage for winter...so they can sleep comfortably..lol
utadventure Posted April 24, 2010 #22 Posted April 24, 2010 It turned out great. You might want to trade another shotgun for a garage!! Dave
Rocket Posted April 24, 2010 #23 Posted April 24, 2010 It turned out great. You might want to trade another shotgun for a garage!! Dave He has a garage, it gets its yearly clean out, for the PIP meets..........
JoenLinda Posted April 24, 2010 #24 Posted April 24, 2010 Sorry to hear that and such a nice custom paint job too. I've had a similair thing happen to my last bike with a cusom paint job and a 5 mph gravel slide. I took it to a collision shop and the owner didn't want to touch it but I begged him and said that he couldn't possibly make it any worse. Not only did he rub out 90% of it but he wouldn't take a dime from me. I send as much work his way as I can. Good luck.
