when did you,start keeping up with gas mileage

 

for me

1960 volvo p544 gas was $.22 reg ,little car got 24 mpg

 

best mpg was 1953 studebaker champ v8 od 35 mpg

 

boy we have come a long way in 50 yrs

Never kept up with gas mileage on anything I have ever owned.....too darn busy working to buy the gas!

 

Boomer....who has a few choice werds for those Oil Company yahoos....and it ain't Merry Christmas!:whistling:

1963 Dodge 440 Golden ( something or other) with 3 two barrel carbs. 4 speed tranny, Hurst shifter. 10 to 12 miles a gallon. Black with red interior. Man I wish I had it back. Slant eyed thing was something.

Dodge Charger 1974 with 318ci with 340 heads. Ran VERY good and still got 26 mpg! "As long as you kept your foot out of the four barrel I had on it." :whistling:

 

Now I got a 6cyl that is front wheel drive, no fun :whistling: and gets a whooping 33mpg on the open road. WOW,36 years, much less power, no more "fun" and "7mpg" better? :confused24:
