jer878 Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I ride at least once a week March - November and don't do any tending or charging. I put my 07 up the first week of November and pull the battery. I store the battery in the family room behind the couch and charge it once month or so. Pull the 07 out of storage first week of March, put the battery in and bingo, starts right up. No tender needed. I have friends that "tender" their batteries during the winter so they can fire right up if a nice day comes along but I store mine so I can park my cage in the garage and not scrape my windows all winter. Tom Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Im running an Odyssey but am not pleased with the life of it...I just ordered a Deka from Earl,(I think he goes by Skydoc) but anyway the Deka is 310CCA so thats way more than my Odyssey. Not 15 mins after I ordered it($87.00) to the door he messaged me THANKING me for the order...I havnt got that kind of service in many many years. Anyway he says I illhave it by Wednesday. My Odyssey was OK at first but it has gone south after roughly 1.5 years or so. He has an AD in the classified.
Snaggletooth Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I'm starting to wonder what the CCA is on Skydoc_17 (Earl) I mean Energizer has the bunny.......... That man just keeps on rolling! Great guy to do business with. You're going to like the DEKA. Mine is over a year old and still running at peak performance EVERY day. Mike
ediddy Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I would check the charging system befor I bought a battery. I have an 05 venture. Last summer after going a week without riding battery was too weak to start. Bought a new battery and after two days of not riding it went dead. Dealer gave me a new battery and it did same thing. I had to keep it on a tender when I wasn't riding. Took my bike to the dealer and it was a bad rectifier. Got it replace under warranty and now I can let my bike sit for days and it is full of power.
