The odometer is off also. Measure it with your GPS. I don't know how much it's off but lets say you ride 10 miles according to your odometer your GPS will be less.

pasted a radar yesterday, bike said I was doing 74, detector said 67

so I guess when I set the cruise control at 73, i'm really doing 66.

Hmm. I guess I'm a lucky one then. I have checked my speed and mileage against two different GPS units. I have found that my speedometer consistently reads within 1 or 2 units of accuracy. That is, I am always within 5 MPH of the indicated speed. NOTE that the resolution of the speedometer is only 2.5 MPH increments.

That is only if you follow the posted speed limit. Even at the 110 or 120 you can still get the ticket in an 80 zone. :rotf:

 

Speedo is off approx 6-7% and odometer is approx 2%
