I have been trying to contact Clearview this week to trace my order and the local and national phone numbers reply that they are full with messages and cannot accept the call. They cashed my check on March 17; has anyone heard of problems with this company? They have $261.74 of my money......and no windshield.:95:

My last order said 3 to 5 weeks. My first Order was similar back in 2009. They collect a bunch of orders then fire up the production line. THIS IS NORMAL for them. If you need one Shipped the day you ordered you can look at their "Blemish in Stock Section" on the Website.

Not defending the practice but you should have received an email "confirming" your order and the same email had the "duration" until shipping. The Vent is AWSOME!!! worth the wait IMHO.

OK my turn. I ordered mine in February and was told that they were 2-4 weeks behind. I was also told that they would not charge my CC until they were ready to ship. When they charged my cc I contacted them to find out when they would be shipping. They finally answered after I send several emails and I was told the shield would go out next week. That was 3 weeks ago. I contacted them again and I was told that they ran two production of my shield but they were defective and that they would be doing another run this week. I will say one thing, I understand that everyone likes the Clearview shield but this is not my idea of good customer service. If I don't receive my shield by next week I am going to ask for a refund and order the F4.:2cents:

OK, on April 10 Clearview sent me an email and said that my shield would go out mid-next week, that would mean by the 14th. Today is the 22nd and still no shield. I am going to call them in the morning, since they take forever to answer email, and ask for a refund. It is a shame that a company has such poor customer service. I went to their website tonight and it states that they are 2-3 weeks behind DO NOT BELIEVE IT!!! If that was true, I would have gotten mine 5 weeks ago. Unless they tell me that my shield is in the mail --Yeah right--I will post their great service on every forum that I can find.:2cents:

I order an X-large with vent on January 11. I had it sent up here to the frozen north, thru customs and our dog sled postal service. I had mine before Feb 15. Couldn't be happier with the service.

As I recall, it took a loooong time to get my Clearview shield. It's one of the best things that I have done to my bike. Guess you just have to be patient because the product is really worth the wait. :2cents:

When we were looking for a Venture, two of the bikes had vents in the base of the windshield, and three did not. Did Yamaha offer this as an option, or the "Clearview" brand the only one that offered them? A couple of the bikes had different height windshields also. I can't remember the years of all because we looked at over a dozen once our mind was made up to which bike we really were drawn to.

They have never been an option from Yamaha. They could have been Clearview shields or they could have just been installed in the stock or other shields by the owner. You can buy the vents and install them in any shield.

Yep, I bought a Blem, could not find it on the shield, but dang your right about customer service. Order it on a Friday, called Monday to find out when it would be shipped, was told next day (Tuesday). The following Monday called again to find out shipment date, was told again next day (Tuesday). The following week called again and told them to refund my money, was told they would ship again on Tuesday, they did but took another 7 days to arrive.

Yeah customer service sucks.

I got a call from Mike at ClearView today. He apologized several times for the miscommunication. His excuse was personnel quit, bad products, etc--he promised that my shield was in the mold as we spoke and would be shipped today if it passed inspection. He promised that he would call me back today and let me know about my shield. WELL I am sure his office is closed and he did not call. Was my shield shipped? I guess I won't know until Monday when I call them back.:confused07:

Well that is almost word for word on what he told me about 3 years ago.:rotf:

He needs to change his line a bit .. Sheesh. I will still buy from him though.

but I will never expect a shield from him under 8 weeks. nice guy though.

I think he needs some sort of secretary or something. in over his head.

Well I did not get a call but I did get a UPS tracking number with a delivery date of April 28. Glory Be--I may get my shield this year after all.:dancefool::dancefool::dancefool:

I just have to ask.... what is so different about a clearview windshield over an oem? I mean over 260 bux vs. 88 bux for a new oem and I am just wondering what is the difference. Do they not turn foggy as soon as oem or ????

thanks for any input at all..

Just to let everyone know (in case you care), I got my Clearview shield the evening of April 22 and put it on that night. I like the shield but not their customer service. I'm satisfied with the product; just be prepared for a long wait. They need to let you know that it could be a long wait.

This thread got a lot of responses and that good. When you scan the responses this gives you a good idea of whats happening out there in Venture Rider land.

Karl,

I thought the same thing just buy and self install a vent. Then my imagination got the better of me... I could not find a HOW TOO cut and install a Vent. I could see myself drilling and cutting and then BAM (A Cracked Windshield)!!!

Then I emailed F4 about installing a Vent in one of there Windshields at there factory, there answer was: NO, NOPE, NATTA not even for extra $$$ (This got me confirming my BAM imagination above) Hmmmmm??? I had the Clearview XXL with factory installed vent and loved it. Even with SLOW turn around IMHO think it is worth the wait (for me). :whistling:
