Karl C. Posted April 13, 2010 #1 Posted April 13, 2010 Well the venture that i have on my profile was mine then it wasnt then it was and well finally my friend and I made the deal today and I finally have title in hand... so it is mine all mine... Starting tomorrow I am gonna get it ready for the road. I am needing some tires but I have to be honest I need some inexpesnvie ones. I am looking at dunlop d404 42 bucks for the back, brand new, and about 60 bucks for the front one.. is that a good sub 100 dollar tire or does anyone else have any ideals? I did get my mirrors in the trade and I cant wait to ride this thing. I rode the 700 nighthawk home today from terre haute to evansville, in and it is a nice little around town bike but honestly I feel cramped on it. I am not a real big guy but I do like to stretch.. Now I guess I gotta get a subscription on here so I can keep talking and getting good feedback from the really awesome forum...:smile5:
Freebird Posted April 13, 2010 #3 Posted April 13, 2010 Yea, there are better tires but the 404 isn't bad. Won't last quiet as long as the more expensive ones but I had no complaints with the performance. It is, in my opinion, probably the best in that price range.
Yammer Dan Posted April 13, 2010 #4 Posted April 13, 2010 Will be the best 12 bucks you ever spent!!! I myself don't like the 404's You can find a set of Kendras for only few bucks more. Rear one is 6 ply tire.

Sylvester Posted April 13, 2010 #7 Posted April 13, 2010 Nothing wrong with D404's. I just put a new set on my bike. Have run them for five years without a complaint.

YamaDude Posted April 13, 2010 #9 Posted April 13, 2010 Oh what a feeling! Way to go nothing like closing a deal and having the title in hand!
BuckShot Posted April 14, 2010 #10 Posted April 14, 2010 Just took a set of 404's off my 86. Good tire for the price. Got alittle over 12,000 miles out of the rear and some tread left. Not enough to warrent waiting untill riding season was in full swing to change. Welcome to the site.

oldschool Posted April 14, 2010 #12 Posted April 14, 2010 My eyes may be playing tricks on me but it looks like you can use a front fender......you pay shipping and it's yours. Ray "Oldschool" Cosby
painterman67 Posted April 14, 2010 #13 Posted April 14, 2010 Im running the shinko tourmaster 230 on front adn back on my 1st gen. not sure what the milage will be like as this is a new tire on the market, but it only cost 128.00 to the door or drop shipped to the dealor. I am so far impressed with these tires and have close to 2000 miles on it so far with no problems. I put the 404 on my wifes shadow as it was original to the bike, and it ride very nice. David
