Dexx Posted April 12, 2010 #1 Posted April 12, 2010 Here's a bit of an update for those who might remember me. Last year about this time I ruptured a bicep tendon in my left arm at work. Due to surgery and recovery, there was no riding allowed for me. This year I am having trouble with my right shoulder. My family doctor says it was probably caused by compensating for the other arm...the worker's comp people don't see it that way. So, the constant pain in my shoulder coupled with my very patient girlfriend becoming less patient about me being in NY while she is in SC, forces me to make the very difficult decision to sell the Venture. I need to gather info and photos for the classifieds section, but I figured I'd o a quick overview here, mostly to garner sympathy, but also to kind of ease into the process and see who might be interested. This is really killing me, but here goes. 1989 Yamaha Venture Royale, 2 tone blue. not sure of exact mileage, but I will get that info. I put around 6000 trouble free miles on it over the two years I was able to ride it. The left side fairing was banged up by the previous owner and it was missing a side cover when I got it. I have collected most of the replacement pieces, but I have not had the time or money to paint and install them. There are also some Yama-line pieces that i bought as NOS a couple of years ago, I think I have a few more still in the packaging. Whatever I do have will go with the bike. I have no desire to part this out . I promise to have more details properly placed in the classified section in a day or two.
LilBeaver Posted April 12, 2010 #3 Posted April 12, 2010 Never say never. I only have SIX!!! bet you could get a deal on the 7th right here! :yikes:
Yammer Dan Posted April 12, 2010 #4 Posted April 12, 2010 There are 7 days in a week!! But then there is that 750... and six Ventures!!
massey130 Posted April 13, 2010 #5 Posted April 13, 2010 we all hate to see someone sell their scooter. but we understand what's got to be done - has to be done. in the near future if you are better after the mend, you can get another scooter and pick up where u left off. good luck with all.
Dexx Posted April 13, 2010 Author #6 Posted April 13, 2010 That's the thing...if there is a mend, I'm looking at 3 to four months recovery with close to no use of the arm, as I am right handed, it's complicated to begin with. Given the givens, I need cash in hand to move. And my wonderful girlfriend has been more than patient, so giving up the bike for now will help further that goal. And every time I see one of those Can-Ams, I am oddly drawn to it....we'll see.
LilBeaver Posted April 13, 2010 #7 Posted April 13, 2010 I hope you get your speedy and as complete of recovery as possible (both your health and your tough relationship times).
Yammer Dan Posted April 14, 2010 #8 Posted April 14, 2010 Good Luck!! Those Can-Ams are interesting....
