juggler Posted October 13, 2007 #1 Posted October 13, 2007 I know many here are Christians and have children. Myspace is way too nasty for unsafe for kids and as an adult I just don't like Myspace. http://www.shoutlife.com is a free Christian owned and operated social networking / community website. I met with the owners this summer and found them to be very nice guys. The whole thing is pretty much family owned and operated. (a couple of brothers, brother-in-law and their spouses.) They monitor all pictures and posts. Give them a shout.
hipshot Posted October 13, 2007 #2 Posted October 13, 2007 wil. thank you for this thread. many of us will take advantage of this site. UNFORTUNATELY , many young people ,will still go to "my-space" at every opportunity, and some "live" there because their parents simply "don't care"! just jt
Marcarl Posted October 13, 2007 #3 Posted October 13, 2007 Thanks for posting, if I still had that age of kids I'd take advantage, but I do have grandkids so will pass it on. Carl
Monsta Posted October 13, 2007 #4 Posted October 13, 2007 Thank you VERY much for the link. Just what my older sons need. myspace has been outlawed in my house for about 3 years now.

But as a good parent do you have a MySpace account so you can make sure your kids don't have one that use from somewhere else?
Black Owl Posted October 13, 2007 #7 Posted October 13, 2007 Wil, I found it rather interesting that a significant number of the artist who'se music is pushed on that site have links to MySpace........
juggler Posted October 13, 2007 Author #8 Posted October 13, 2007 Wil, I found it rather interesting that a significant number of the artist who'se music is pushed on that site have links to MySpace........ Most artists have accounts on ALL of the social networking websites. MySpace is the BIG one. It will take time for a startup to get up to that size and to be really competitive. ShoutLife is just under one year old. They done very well for the first year. This past summer they contacted me for my expertise in high traffic, high availability websites. They had some server issues that I helped them resolve. Since then they have been running smooth and fast.
Monsta Posted October 13, 2007 #9 Posted October 13, 2007 But as a good parent do you have a MySpace account so you can make sure your kids don't have one that use from somewhere else? No. As a good parent I've developed trust with my kids. They don't go on because they know we (wife and I) disagree with most of the content on the site. It was a family decision.
