YamaDuck Posted April 11, 2010 #1 Posted April 11, 2010 Well just got back from the Ga. maintenance day or should I say meet and eat with a little tinkering on the scoots. Steve I want to thank you for syncing my carbs and the use of you shop and your hospitality and also the food. Terry it was great to see you as always and thanks for all that you do. Randy I hope you find your washer. It will show up as soon as you buy another one. George and Bobbie it was great seeing you again. Those gauges look great. I t was great seeing all of you again and meeting the rest of you also. Larry thanks for the helmet. Dave (Double D) I think your running out of places to put things on your bike. Barend I'm sorry ya'll had to leave so early maybe we will have more time to chat next time. Way to many people to remember all the names. Lots of maintenance got occomplished today and lots of friendships made also.
Sling Posted April 11, 2010 #2 Posted April 11, 2010 Peggy and I are home safe and sound..We started out with a chilly morning ride. We arrived at Steve's house and there were folks already tearing into the bikes.. Oil changes, brake jobs, carb sync's, the works. Even a set of gages installed. I didn't count them but there were so many bikes there that they had to move some out of the shop to get the others in to work on them. Steve's better half put a nice spread for all to eat. Bobbie's camera was smoking with all the pictures she took. It was great to put the faces with the names on the forum, I still don't remember all the names. I would like to thank Blackjack for putting this together and thank Steve for the use of his shop. Weather on the afternoon ride home turned out to be perfect. We had a great day and look forward to seeing everyone again in the future.
Sleeperhawk Posted April 11, 2010 #3 Posted April 11, 2010 Mechanic and I are home now. Made it about 3.5 hours, but as some of you know, the pain was there all the way home. It was great seeing old and new faces. There was a lot of work done. I think someone said about 16 bikes, could be more. Great weather today too. Mechanic will most likely get the pics up tomorrow. For now I am going to crash.
Motorcycle Mike Posted April 11, 2010 #4 Posted April 11, 2010 Shirley and I had a good time. Thanks for the hospitality. Great to put some faces to the names. Sorry we had to bail so early. We realy would have loved to stay longer.
SteveW Posted April 11, 2010 #5 Posted April 11, 2010 (edited) George I think I speak for all that made it today when I say thanks for all your help and work today to make it a great Maint.Day. Wish you were feeling better. Hope you feel better soon and take care of yourself. Dennis said anytime you want to go flying just come on up. I want to say thanks to all who showed up and for all the help everyone did pitching in. I hope everyone got what they needed done. Don't be strangers and stop by any time for a cup of coffee and a visit. Edited April 11, 2010 by SteveW
Sleeperhawks Mechanic Posted April 11, 2010 #6 Posted April 11, 2010 Thank you, Steve and Gloria, for hosting such a wonderful Maintenance Day! Thank you, Blackjack, for getting this set up! How did you order up such a beautiful day?!!! You need to let us know your secret! It was great seeing everyone there! It is so good to see so many people helping each other, sharing tools and knowledge! That is what Venture Rider family is all about! I took over 400 pictures and after editing, came up with 380 to post. Sleeperhawk is recooperating and I may try to put the pictures up later myself this afternoon. He normally does it himself.
