I love my Venture. For the type of riding my wife and I do together, it's the ideal bike.

I previously owned Honda VTX 1800s, though. Despite my love of my Venture, I still sometimes really miss the massive torque and responsiveness of those large V-twins.

I could buy a 2nd bike, I guess, but I hate paying for the insurance on the bike I have, plus having a secure place to park it at night would be a problem for me.

Does anyone else feel this way? The V-4 is a great motor, no doubt about it. But if you've previously owned a large V-twin, don't you miss it sometimes? :scratchchin:

well I just went from a 96 cu in HD to the V 4 Royal Star and don't miss the twin at all. I've always liked how unique the Royal Star motorcycle and it's engine is, and not to mention the sound it produces with the Khrome Werks exhaust. Your probably just having a case of wanting something new to ride. I'm finally down to one motorcycle, it's nice just having one to pay insurance on and to maintain, keeps it simple and more time to ride. Don't jump into anything maybe the urge will pass! LOL :fingers-crossed-emo

I love the sound of a V-Twin, but there's something about that V4 that just turns me on. Could be because I grew up on bikes with a V4 configuration or it could be because it kinda reminds me of the sound of a hot rod car. I dunno, but I would much rather have the V4 over the twin any day.

I sold my Kaw Vulcan 1500 Classic when my first son was born. Then several years later I bought an 86 Wing. Great bike that I put lots of miles on but just wasn't the same. Now I've got an 03 Roadstar that should be back from the painter any day. Nothing like that rumble.

A year ago I had four bikes in the garage.

A Suzuki ts 400 dualsport, a Yamaha TY250 trials (not trail) bike, a Honda CR250 MXer, and a Honda 1100 Spirit.

I sold them all to pay cash for a Venture, and I miss them all.

I keep thinking that I miss the Spirit until I realize that the Venture is faster, rides better, handles better and is more comfortable than the Spirit ever dreamed of being.

No I don't miss the 1100 any more than the other bikes I've had, but I will be looking for another big bore dualsport. Likely an XR650 Honda.

I'd also like to find another newer trials bike. Something like an Sherco or maybe a Beta if I can find a deal.
