loosebiker Posted April 7, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 7, 2010 Is anyone using the Tow-Pac Trike Kit. I have been considering this kit but I am still on the fence. My knees are shot and I need some help holding the Venture up at stops. Thanks.
Hummingbird Posted April 7, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 7, 2010 I had a friend that used one of those. He really liked it but if you have irregular roads or drives that you use regularly, you have to be careful about getting high sided. On more than one occasion his drive wheel got in a rut with the outriggers on solid ground - caused a lot of spinning and tire wear. The upside is that they can be bought used for $1500 or so versus $6000 plus for a trike conversion and then getting it installed. Usually wind up with a ten thousand dollar bill disappearing. Do they still make a $10,0000.00 bill ?
loosebiker Posted April 7, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted April 7, 2010 Thanks for the info. I had not considered the highside issue.
Carbon_One Posted April 7, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 7, 2010 You may want to consider a sidecar rig as well. This'll give you 3 choices with the side car running less then 3k when comparing to outrigger style and trike set ups. Larry
loosebiker Posted April 9, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted April 9, 2010 Thanks Carbon One. I had not considered that but I will. Can you tell me which side cars you would recommend. Thanks
