ron07rsv Posted April 7, 2010 #1 Posted April 7, 2010 I have been reading about changing to a VMAX gear, just wondering is it worth it? Would like to have a little more acceleration but do not want to loose to much gas milage, is this possible?

pegscraper Posted April 7, 2010 #3 Posted April 7, 2010 No loss of gas mileage. This bike is geared too high. One might think that spinning slower rpms saves gas, but when the throttle has to be opened further to pull that high of a gear, there goes any potential gas savings. A more appropriate gear will let the throttle be more closed (which is not something you will feel), and does not use any more gas but does give better performance.
