Gamecock Posted April 6, 2010 #1 Posted April 6, 2010 for those that have an 09 or 10 RSV, what's ballpark of what you paid. not trying to be too nosey, but after the accident, i think i am going to get a brand new one. thanks. ben
Renne Posted April 6, 2010 #2 Posted April 6, 2010 I see you ask for "09" / "10" costs, I have yet to see a "10" but, I bought an "08" carryover RSVS for $13.9k, they gave me $4500 trade in for my 2000 RS. I thought that was a good deal. "08" cost was $17.9k so,,,you can see the remarkable carryover price,,,a $4k discount! Renne,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Guest scarylarry Posted April 6, 2010 #3 Posted April 6, 2010 (edited) Out the door no trade, gives u more buying power of course.. I would say 09 mid 14's maybe less but I doubt it... http://www.lakehillmotors.com/index.htm They are in Ms. If you want a seashell /raven I know of a dealer here that has one on the floor and like many dealers they are hurting and wanting to deal.. http://precisionyamaha.com/ This is all I know of off hand.. T.J. Posted April 6, 2010 #4 Posted April 6, 2010 What an exciting time when looking for a motorcycle. Just take your time and shop and enjoy every lead you get. I see many used Ventures around here in Michigan. Most of them were not taken care of on the out side, so I can imagine that maintenance was not a priority with many. Have fun looking and talking. Good Luck.
eagleeye Posted April 6, 2010 #5 Posted April 6, 2010 I am glad to see that you are up and around and looking for another venture so soon. After you get some ballpark figures, go to cycletrader.com. There are NEW 2010's, 2009's, 2008's and even 2007's for sale all over the country. Have fun shopping, Steve
Skid Posted April 6, 2010 #6 Posted April 6, 2010 I know there is a red and black Venture here at the local yamaha dealers, but not sure what price they have on it yet. Last I heard it was still in the crate.
Owen Posted April 6, 2010 #7 Posted April 6, 2010 I know where there is a beautiful 2008 for sale. I know the history and know that it is in great shape and still under warranty too...
bongobobny Posted April 6, 2010 #8 Posted April 6, 2010 Got my '09 "S" version (Like the midnight, extra chrome) for 17,300 but was given a good discount from my dealer. I think the retail for that model was closer to 19K... I think the '10 model looks tacky to say the least. Maybe if you can loose the flame job it would be a nicer ride...
aspen60 Posted April 6, 2010 #9 Posted April 6, 2010 Got mine for 15,500, go to cycletrader.com and type in what your looking for. It will show you anything the dealers have listed. I saw a new 08 on the site a couple of weeks back. Here is the link, I hope it works. http://www.cycletrader.com/
Aussie Annie Posted April 6, 2010 #10 Posted April 6, 2010 Hey Ben, Hope you find a nice one! Do you know where your recently departed bike will go I'm looking for a 2nd hand radio/intercom control unit.....and thought I would just ask
Wolf Posted April 6, 2010 #11 Posted April 6, 2010 I paid 15,500 for mine in Winchester Ben. I can check with the dealer and see if they have any more left. Send me a PM if you need me to check.
ronhenry4 Posted April 6, 2010 #12 Posted April 6, 2010 Here in cincinnati they are stickering for 19k
bongobobny Posted April 7, 2010 #14 Posted April 7, 2010 09 "S" - 17,100 out the door. Columbia, SC Now that may be a good deal, but check into the ones they are talking 15K for...
Wanderer Posted April 7, 2010 #15 Posted April 7, 2010 Now that may be a good deal, but check into the ones they are talking 15K for... Oh no no no! If I had it to do all over again I'd by one that was one or two years old, - - - but I just had to have a new one.
Art708 Posted April 7, 2010 #16 Posted April 7, 2010 I'll sell you my '09 with about 6K miles. If you want to talk seriously we can when I return to SC next weekend.
Gamecock Posted April 7, 2010 Author #17 Posted April 7, 2010 i did the cycletrader thing, found some unsold 07/08's that are good propects...gotta wait til the arms heel and get my insurance check.... as for the final resting place, i don't know, but state farm already has the bike...sorry. ben
eusa1 Posted April 7, 2010 #18 Posted April 7, 2010 when i crashed my 1st 2003 rsv in september of 2005, i went on line at the local yamaha dealer and found a new still in the box 2003 rsv in Atlanta Ga. and purchased it for 11k cash out the door i didn't want to re-paint my customer trailer to match a different slower color. then ended up buying the wreck cheap from the insurance company, fixing and selling it for the same amount that i paid for the new one. here they are together before i sold the first one.

Call Lake Hill Motors and ask for Greg Young...he is a friend and great guy. He'll tell you what they have in stock and what the best out the door price will be.
OldBear Posted April 9, 2010 #20 Posted April 9, 2010 I got my 09 new last June for $15,300 at S&S powersports up near Louisville. I was there last week and they still had one new red/black 09 on the floor with a 15.3 tag still on it. I'll bet it could be had for 14 or so....
Solodadof2 Posted April 9, 2010 #21 Posted April 9, 2010 I have seen several low mileage 09 out there for 13k or less, I think If I had to pay the 18000 plus for a tourbike I would be looking towards some of the other brands with Fuel injection and more cc.
Herb In Texas Posted April 9, 2010 #22 Posted April 9, 2010 Yamaha West has an 07 on the floor for 12k. used with I think 4 or mabe 7K on the clock. Already got the trunk rack and baag rails and 2 into 4 straght pipes. Sounds cool but loud for my taste.
