eusa1 Posted April 6, 2010 Author #27 Posted April 6, 2010 Holey Schmoley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That looks terrific!!!!!!! Wouldn't that look great on a Midnight????? eagleeye Posted April 6, 2010 #28 Posted April 6, 2010 Sharp That chrome really stands out and sets it off. Steve
aspen60 Posted April 6, 2010 #29 Posted April 6, 2010 Yea that is one of the coolest addons I've seen in some time. guess I was wrong to think I didn't want any more chrome!
BuckShot Posted April 6, 2010 #30 Posted April 6, 2010 I try do do things to my skuter, that makes it a bit different from others... with that said, here is my latest addition in the "quest for more chrome" the lower fairing on the 2nd gens are made of a clear thick plastic, and they take quite a few hits with the bugs and rocks and such, and after a few years and a multitude of miles, they start to look a bit tacky. i took a new set of lowers and had them chrome plated, inside and out, then automotive grade clear coating added to help hold the shine. whadya think?? mike Someone started something Looks great
eusa1 Posted April 7, 2010 Author #31 Posted April 7, 2010 rootbeer in Oglesby Illinois at noon tmrow!! rain or shine, 2 wheels or 4!
1BigDog Posted April 7, 2010 #32 Posted April 7, 2010 Me and Dan talked about making the fairing deflectors in polished aluminum but those curves and mounting brackets are just too intricate for us. Those look great chromed. But like you said, you need a new set to start with. Plastic cant be sanded too well and those scratches sure will come out to haunt ya. Fantastic job......hmmm, will the wife let me do this too?? (anyone have a spare room in their basement?)
Seaking Posted April 7, 2010 #33 Posted April 7, 2010 Holey Schmoley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That looks terrific!!!!!!! Wouldn't that look great on a Midnight????? Maybe....Xmas is only 8 months away..... How about shiny black ones instead of chrome? I took the eye brows of the fairing on mine for a more aesthetic look..
Yammer Dan Posted April 7, 2010 #34 Posted April 7, 2010 " UGLY" doesn't hide much. She usually is out there to be seen. And I have seen worse looking bikes. No matter how you dress it ?? Still true to its heart!!! Which "UGLY" has plenty of.... But I might have a "Show Bike" too.

eusa1 Posted April 13, 2010 Author #49 Posted April 13, 2010 the air cleaner boxes could be chromed just as easy, you could even do both inner and outer parts of the box......hmmmm, now i might have to take the inside halves to the chrome shop??:mo money: thanks:buttkick: i had them painted to match on my 1st 2003 rsv, that looked cool too! mike
Yammer Dan Posted April 13, 2010 #50 Posted April 13, 2010 Hey Mike. Why are the Chrome shops disappearing?? Seem hard to find anymore. I have a room full of 1st gen shiney things. Some good ones that need redone.
