dunvilsteev Posted April 5, 2010 #1 Posted April 5, 2010 Bought the bike used with 3000 km, it now has 36,000 kms and when I changed the rear gear oil I noticed the plug has a nipple on the end, and the nipple on my plug was coated in either grease (I hope) or gunk build up (hope not). Could it be grease? sure felt like it... Greasy fingers crossed!
Sleeperhawk Posted April 5, 2010 #2 Posted April 5, 2010 Its a magnet that catches the metal shavings, mine looks like that all time. Unless someone else says there is an issue, I just clean it up, replace the oil and go riding.
RedRider Posted April 5, 2010 #3 Posted April 5, 2010 It even states in the shop manual that there will be metal pieces caught by the magnet. Clean it off, refill with 80W90, and ride. RR
