Blue Giant Posted April 5, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2010 Have you checked or cleaned the connections at the back of the unit. (big white plug)? There is also a tech article in the first gen section that tells you how to repair it if it's more than just a dirty, poor or corroded connection. friesman Posted April 5, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2010 It looks like you might have to do a search in the 1st gen area to get some info on checking the cold solder joints Brian
GigaWhiskey Posted April 5, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 5, 2010 I do not have an answer for you. I searched and could not find much. If you do have to solder, review this thread - http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27540&highlight=class+display Good tips there. Condor Posted April 5, 2010 Share #5 Posted April 5, 2010 Did you give it enough time to go to manual or auto...front/rear??? These CLASS systems run about 1 hz speed and take a while before things start to happen. Usually if there's a problem it will go blank or throw an Error code... E1..E2..etc.

Thanks, Let it finish the POST (Power On Self Test) & after it reads 0.0, press the front or rear button to get a reading.
BigBMattie Posted April 6, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted April 6, 2010 The big white plug seams to be in good condition no rust or anything from what I can see. I have let it sit in ACC mod to let the POST run mabey 10 min and the screen will not change. I took out the CLASS box, took it apart to look at the solder points on the board and they all seam to be in good shape. Also dusted the board with a horse hair brush. Blue Giant Posted April 6, 2010 Share #8 Posted April 6, 2010 Well if that didn't fix it i would suspect the unit itself is defective since it will not boot up. I'm sure someone with more experience with these unit will know one way or the other. Cleaning all the connections on mine solved my problems. GeorgeS Posted April 6, 2010 Share #11 Posted April 6, 2010 On the Plug, tug on the wires, the crimps of the pins on wire ends come loose. You might have to remove all the male and female pins and resolder them. Also, check all the connections on the pump at the rear of the bike. Open all the connectors and clean with CRC 2-26 electrical contact cleaner.
